Description: Chateau Lamargue is one of the most famous and prestigious cellars in the South of France. On a terrain of 117 hectares, the Chateau Lamargue cellar produces a range of ten wines that are divided into A.O.C Costieres de Nimes and Vins de pays d'Oc wines, which correspond to different types of wine and different types of production.

Now owned by Campari this estate has undergone significant investment in the vineyards and a new showcase winery equipped with the most advanced winemaking technology. Additionally, Lamargue’s ageing cellars are now replete with all-new French and American oak barriques.

Generally harvested in the first half of September, the fully ripened grapes undergo a three-day maceration at a temperature of around 12°C. Fermentation at a temperature of 28°-30°C lasts around one week. Highly concentrated, the wine remains in tanks for a brief period after which it is transferred into barriques for six months prior to bottling and release.

All varietal wines produced by the Domaine Lamargue label are estate-grown and bottled. Yields at the property have been reduced to about 3,500 liters per hectare – which translates into approximately one bottle of wine per vine. Consequently, the varietal wines of Domaine Lamargue are deeply colored, intensely fragrant and rich in concentrated flavours.

This Merlot has a deep and intense red colour while the nose is dominated by wood that integrates perfectly leaving notes of balsamic and spicy flavours, of cloves and candied fruits. On the palate it is very concentrated, while the presence of powerful tannins and a beautiful acid balance perfectly support its long finish.

Chateau de Campuget 1753 de CHATEAU de CAMPUGET Costieres de Nimes AC
Chateau de Campuget, which belongs to the Dalle family since 1941, is producing great A.O.C. Costieres de Nimes wines. The vineyard of 160 hectares is situated in the heart of the A.O.C. area, between Nimes and Arles, a few kilometres from the right side of the Rhone river. The main characteristic of the 'terroir' is its soil , formed by an accumulation of round stones that had been rolled by many overflows of the Rhone river during the quaternary era. It allows the grapevines to establish their roots deep enough to find the water they need for growing. At the same time they profit of the sunny Mediterranean climate, essential for the good maturation of the grapes. Although equipped with stainless-steel tanks and modern tools, Chateau Campuget wines are made and matured in a traditional way. From its own bottling-line to the air-conditioned warehouse, it can control the quality of the wines from the vineyard to the bottle. This Syrah wine is the newest in the range and is named after the date on which wine growing is first mentioned on the Property according to a document retained by the Dalle family. (6 x 75 cl)
