Deep velvety red in colour showing rich mulberry and oak flavours. Packed with dark chocolate and a cassis grip on the palate. Grapes are hand picked at optimum ripeness and after de-stalking fermented dry on the skins at 26ºc for 10 days. They are then pressed and malolactic fermentation is finished in new and second fill American and French Oak barrels. The wine is then matured for 12 months in the barrel. Excellent with steak, hearty stews and roast chicken or lamb.
Deep, rich plummy colour. A bouquet that's intensely warm and smoky in character, with distinctive hints of spice. On the palate, the fruit emerges beautifully and is in superb symmetry with the wood. It's ready to be enjoyed now, but with further bottle maturation, this wine's excellent structure will allow hidden layers to develop in a most impressive manner (6 x 75 cl)
A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Pinotage. The Cabernet Sauvignon comes from well established vineyards on our farm in Firgrove and the Pinotage from 17 year old vineyards on our Franschhoek farm. The Cabernet was matured in French Oak for 13 months, while the Pinotage matured for 10 months in American Oak before blending and bottling. Typical expression of a well structured unique South African blend. Flavours of plum, cinnamon and cigarbox, followed by a lengthy palate. Enjoy with spicy Cape Malay dishes, rich meaty or vegetable casseroles. (6 x 75 cl)
