Bodegas Muga PRADO ENEA Gran Reserva Tinto Rioja
A wine that offers generous, rich, opulent fruit in addition to hints of spices and cocoa. This vivacious wine is both powerful and elegant with an impressive and persistent aftertaste. Dense, concentrated, well-balanced, delicious and complex. (6 x 75 cl)
Bodegas Muga TORRE Reserva Tinto Rioja
A full-bodied and elegant wine with the structure and complexity to last for years to come. Selected grapes derived from vines which are at least 50 years old go into making this wine which bursts with character. (6 x 75 cl)
Bodegas Muga Tinto Reserva Rioja DO
Bright ruby red wine with medium intensity of colour, giving an impression of liveliness and excellent evolution in the bottle. Perhaps what most defines this vintage is the wine's aroma, with a floral character which almost smothers the fruit, something quite typical in Atlantic-climate wines. In the mouth it is firm, with good backbone and, after a passing impression of acidity, which hints at its excellent ageing potential, the mineral component takes over and spreads through the mouth in both space and time. Finally there is a mouth-enveloping sensation of soft tannins which leaves a pleasant reminder of its passing. (12 x 75 cl)
Bodegas Muga Tinto Reserva Rioja DO
Brilliant ruby colour. On the nose, the floral notes superimpose the fruit; fresh hay and oak related aromas such as fresh vanilla, coconut, roasted coffee and smoky notes. Very elegant. On the palate, it is firm and robust; mineral flavours and soft tannins. Red berries and spices in the aftertaste. Great for ageing. Available in 37.5 cl Half Bottles. (12 x 37.5 cl)
Bodegas Muga SELECCION ESPECIAL Tinto Rioja
A concentrated and complex wine with exquisite aromas and rich ripe fruit. Lively and powerful, elegant in the mouth with a long spicy finish and an oaky aftertaste. (12 x 75 cl)
Bodegas Muga RESERVA Rioja Alta duplicate
Bodegas Muga was founded in 1932 by Isaac Muga and his wife, Aurora Cano, both of whom came from families with a long tradition of activity within the wine-making industry. Over the years, Muga wines have gained international recognition and acclaim; from working with just a few thousand kilos of grapes per year, the bodega has now expanded its processing capacity to over one and half million kilos. Today, new generations of the Muga family continue to join the family business, making Bodegas Muga a true symbol of family tradition. The Bodegas Muga vineyards are situated on the east and south-facing slopes of the Obarenes Mountains, which are sculptured into terraces to form a series of small plots. The soil in this region is mainly clayey and calcareous, although some regions tend to be more ferrous and alluvial. The land is divided into small plots with varying physical and chemical properties and their own individual and clearly defined personalities. A blend of Tempranillo 70%, Garnacha 20% and Mazuelo y Graciano 10% grapes this wine spends 6 months in traditional Riojan oak vats, 24 months in small oak barrels and a minimum of 12 months in bottle. Cherry red in colour with light brick hues from ageing, the aromas of noble wood are perfectly blended with those of ripe fruit. The balance in the mouth is perfectly compensated in flavour of this rounded wine. Full of nuances this Tempranillo dominated wine is very tasty with a long, lingering finish. (12 x 75 cl)
Bodegas Muga TORRE Reserva Tinto Rioja
Located in the historic 'Barrio de la Estacion' in Haro, Bodegas Muga is a family company which fashions traditionally styled, complex Rioja wines. The style and character of the wines is the result of the winemaker's scrupulous dedication to quality. This entails rigorous grape selection, fermentation exclusively in oak, classic ageing in oak barriques and then fining, solely with fresh egg whites prior to bottling. The quality of these wines is recognised in the most demanding markets of the World and Muga is one of the first bodegas to produce wines which are very much in tune with the latest trends (3 x 1.5 Litres)
