Jefferson Cuvee Cabernet Sauvignon displays aromatics of berries, blackberry, coffee, chocolate, while the oak is nicely woven into the thread with a richness of toffee and caramel. The flavours follow a very similar profile to the aroma profile, dark berries, bittersweet chocolate and coffee with the toasty oak. This wine is full-bodied and the tannins coat the mouth wonderfully and extend richly through the finish. (12 x 75 cl)

The oak is well integrated and frames the fruit nicely of this Estate Grown Chardonnay.A wine rich in texture and long on the finish,it is showing aromatics of caramel-covered apples, pineapples and pears. (12 x 75 cl)

As is typical for our Pinot Noir, this wine has very strong red-berry aromatics, including raspberry and strawberry. There are hints of ginger, clove and vanilla which accent the fruit. The tannins are supple, and frame the wine very well. It is a medium-to-full bodied wine that has a very nice balance of fruit and acidity. The berry flavours coat the palate and the finish resonates with berry and spice. Designed to be enjoyed young, while it is full of vim, vigour and vibrancy, this wine is tasting great upon release and will continue to develop and drink well. (12 x 75 cl)

WI NEMAKER 'S COMMENTS Clos Du Val 's Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a deep ruby color with a purplish hue.The ripe fruit nose is integrated with toasty oak and is quite lush with a subtle bell pepper note.A focused wine,the Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is loaded with ripe fruit,a dense center and a healthy component of soft tannins.The long finish is a fitting finale to the concentration this wine offers.

Founded in 1972, Joseph Phelps Vineyards is an independent, estate-based winery located outside of St. Helena. Perched on a knoll in bucolic Spring Valley, the graceful redwood winery overlooks vineyard-studded hills, the town of St. Helena and the Mayacamas Mountains to the west. Long known for his innovative spirit and passion for quality, Joe Phelps pioneered a number of 'firsts' in the early years of the winery. The 1974 Insignia — released in the spring of 1978 — was the first Bordeaux-style blend produced in California under a proprietary label. The release of the 1974 Syrah in 1977 sparked industry-wide interest in a remarkable French varietal whose plantings in California had disappeared and been virtually forgotten for over half a century. And in 1990, after years of research, a whole new family of Rhône-style wines was introduced which today includes Syrah, Viognier and a Chateauneuf-du-Pape style blend called Le Mistral. 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 8% Petite Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc from estate-owned vineyards and independent growers. Grapes were harvested at an average 25.4º Brix, fermented in stainless steel tanks, then aged 20 months in a combination of new French and American oak barrels and two- to four-year-old French and American oak , before being blended and bottled prior to release. The Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is full of ripe fruit notes of blackberry and Bing cherry with a dash of curry and allspice. The oak is well integrated and helps mold the smooth, silky finish and sweet tannins, which linger on the palate. (12 x 75 cl)

Cabernet Sauvignon is classically balanced in terms of acid and tannin structure. The wine is showing very pure berry varietal character in the nose and revealing its Mt. Veeder origins with side notes of licorice and bay leaf. On the palate, the typical Mayacamas blackberry, black and red cherry, pepper, and mint are all in evidence. (12 x 75 cl)
