Bright, deep red. Unctuous cherry, chocolate and smoke-led presence. The oak and core still cloaks its aromas, but in time all the firm fruit should evolve from straight on power to more complexity. A smooth, almost silky texture masks the firm tannic structure beneath, wich really comes to the fore at the beginning of the long finish. (12 x 75 cl)

Today, Marques de Casa Concha shows the great recent progress in the viticultural and vinicultural art in Chile. This Merlot comes from the Peumo Vineyard, Rapel Valley, Chile, where the grapes are manually harvested during April. The wine is aged for 15 months in new and used French oak barriques, then aged a further 2 months after bottling. This fine deep red coloured Merlot has an intense varietal bouquet and richness of flavour. Complexity develops out of its firm, quiet, supple core while the wine has a velvety and firm palate with ripe tannins imparting smoothness and balance leading to a long finish. (6 x 75 cl)

From the Marques De Casa vineyard of Puente Alto this Cabernet Sauvignon is a dark ruby-red coloured wine with a cherry, chocolate, black tar and smoke bouquet. Concentrated and full bodied this wine is smooth, round, well balanced and tasteful with a long finish. (6 x 75 cl)

Grapes for the Casa Concha range of wines are sourced from single vineyard sites; this Syrah is from the cool south-facing Rucahue vineyard in Chile’s Rapel Valley. It is deep and dense with smoky blackberry flavours, some spicy oak character from the French oak barrel ageing. A great red showing real elegance and complexity. (12 x 75 cl)
