This Montagny 1er Cru from Stephane Aladame is fresh and elegant on the palate with nutty, appley, ripe fruit flavours and mineral characters. The fruit comes from a few different parcels of land and is all hand-picked. The wine is vinified in stainless steel and undergoes 100% malolactic fermentation. It is not filtered or fined and is bottled in the summer following the harvest.
Aladame is one of the rising stars of the younger generation of French vignerons, and has already attracted a considerable amount of attention in France. His wines are deeply serious and rank among the best to come from this appellation. Unlike many young winemakers, he isn't carrying on a family tradition. Instead, at the age of 18, having finished his studies in Beaune, he started renting vineyards to make his own wine.

Ruby red wine, aged in small French oak. Apart from its great concentration and richness, it shows a wonderful vibrant character and will age well. Founded in 1980, COS , is the top boutique winery in Sicily, with very limited production of stunning modern wines. The 10 hectares estate lies near Victoria on the south east corner of the island (12 x 75 cl)
In 1811, Louis Gaspard d'Estournel set out to produce wine of the very best quality in the hamlet of Cos. He was a dealer in Arab horses, which were shipped to and from the Far East, accompanied, eventually, by some bottles of the Estournel wine. Some of the consignment came back and it was noticed that the bottles had developed exceedingly well. D'Estournel decided all of his wine would make a sea journey and to emphasise his connections with the Far East he built a chateau in the style of an Oriental temple, complete with Pagoda towers. The success of these wines is due to the expert management of Bruno Prats who has invested on a large scale and has made many fundamental improvements. The vigorous taste holds nuances of ripe fruit, plus chocolate, coffee and spices. Gravel ridges, mixed with sand, clay and a limestone subsoil. 50-100% of virgin barriques new oak. "Massive in the mouth and one of the most structured and concentrated young Cos d'Estournels I have ever tasted...should last for 30-35 years. It is fabulous Cos, but patience is required. Anticipated maturity, 2006-2030." Parker, 93+. (12 x 75 cl)
