Organic. Delicate aromas of sweet vanilla oak, intermingled with persistent ripe, buttery fruit. The palate is full yet exquisitely balanced, with stylish elegant fruit and refined oak. A very long finish with continually evolving flavours made this a superb, top-class example of the region.
Organic. A late harvest from low yielding vines, ten months barrel maturation and a further period in the bottle prior to release has produced a wine which is rich and intense. Sublime depth of flavour with chewy, concentrated summer fruit flavours. (12 x 75 cl)
Organic. Typical earthy, dense gamey nose of the Nebbiolo grape leads into an intense, dry wine with packed fruit and teasingly dry tannins. A good example of a well known wine that hasn't yielded to any compromise of the traditional style. (12 x 75 cl)
Opaque ruby red with extensive, deep purple highlights. The bouquet is remarkably strong and persistent, with continuously alternating aromas of folwers and especially of fruit; petals of dark violets give way to red currant berries, while a hint of black cherry overlaps with a fragrance of mature balckberries. To the taste, Barturot offers a body that is hearty and athletic, yet gentle and soft. The lively structure is well supported by a just the right tannin content. The acidity is pleasant, as is the alcoholic swetness. In a symphony of fruity aromas, wild berries again take centre stage to create a rare crescendo that ends in a very long, soft finale. Intensely satisfying to the taste buds, this wine of great elegance and noble bearing proves a theory held by Beppe, who has shown that Dolcetto can be as great as any of the finest classic red wines made in Italy. (6 x 75 cl)
Bright ruby red colour with strong violet highlights this wines nose has a Vilot expression showing an elegant and varied bouquet, that is winy and fresh, with hints of wild violet, red rose and blackberry. To the taste, the Vilot character lengthens and intensifies the sensations already revealed to the nose, which are based on a full, lively fruitiness. The structure is solid and well-balanced, with a fine, elegant textur and the finale is long and complex, with a pleasant almond aftertaste. Overall, this is a Dolcetto whose fresh, juicy, fruity flavour is harmonised and complemented by the strong tannins. (12 x 75 cl)
A Barbera with a deep violet-ruby red colour, Brichet has an intense, varied bouquet revealing winy hints of fresh red fruit, blueberry and prune that blend into the gentle notes of spices and coffee that are released by just the right amount of Ageing in wood . Conforming perfectly to the bouquet, the flavour is strikingly fresh and savoury, and is complemented by a forceful structure that does not conceal the balanced, yet palpable acidity and tannin content. The finale is tasty and pleasantly persistent. (6 x 75 cl)
Very intense, deep ruby red, with the purple reflections typical of young Dolcetto; the bouquet surprises with exceptional elegance and ideal interplay of Nebbiolo and Dolcetto : a chorus where Nebbiolo gives the peak performance and Dolcetto the background. Spicy and/or vinous notes characteristic of the two varieties, mellowed by aging. Very rich but non-aggressive, an all-around food wine for special occasions and complex, structured dishes. Blends famously include some of the world's most prestigious wines: our Bricco may well be the most historic and authentically Italian interpretation. Serve at 17/19ยบ C., in an ample glass. Bricco del Drago was first released in 1969 and was the first ''Super Vino da Tavola'' in the Piedmont, possibly the first in Italy. Thanks to this long-standing reputation, Bricco del Drago may soon be recognized as an individual, specific DOC, ''Bricco del Drago''. Since 1995 vintage it is a Langhe Rosso DOC. The reason behind this wine is the incredible complexity and structure with which this soil endows Dolcetto, rendering it far from the forward wine it usually is. This particular Dolcetto, with the addition of a small percentage of Nebbiolo bestowing greater finesse and elegance, and after a judiciously timed sojourn in wood, is a complex, pleasing wine of superb breed and extraordinary longevity. Beacause of these distinguishing traits, Dr. Degiacomi, who created the wine, wisely choose to employ cru name rather than varietal name to identify it. IN THE VINEYARD Varieties : 85% Dolcetto (6 x 75 cl)
Light straw yellow, with pale green reflections. Intense, fruity and elegant taste. The Fratelli Casseta winery is located in the North-west of Italy in the Piemonte region. The estates 40 ha are set in a magic paradise of hills with strong soil and a dry climate. The Casetta family has been there since 1725, and wine-making is a family tradition. Thanks to the vision of Ernesto Casetta, whose life has been the guiding spirit behind this company, its wines are now renowned the world over. (6 x 75 cl)
The Rivetti family story begins in the 1890s, when Giovanni Rivetti, grandfather of the three Rivetti brothers, Carlo, Bruno and Giorgio, left Piedmont for Argentina. Like many Italians of that time, he dreamed of returning rich and a powerful man, perhaps even one day able to make a great wine in his homeland. He never did, though his son, Giuseppe did. Pin married Lidia, bought vineyards and began to make wine. In 1977 the family took up residence at La Spinetta in Castagnole Lanze and still run the estate today. Named in honor of Lidia Rivetti, mother of the three Rivetti brothers this is 100% Chardonnay from a 2 hectare vineyard. After spending 12 months in new French oak this has produced a yellow straw coloured wine with slightly green reflections. Elegant, yet complex with scents reminding one of vegetables and vanilla; once on the palate there is a ripe entry, then distinctly firm edged, with a dry, nutty edge and sound acidity. (12 x 75 cl)
Colour: intense pale yellow. Bouquet: fruity, intense, with light vanilla scent. Taste: full, harmonious and ample, with a persistent aroma reflective of the bouquet.
