Cantine Mezzacorona Societa Cooperativa Agricola was founded in 1904 and was one of the first growers associations to be organised in Italy. It comprises 2,400 hectares of vineyards in Trentino and Alto Adige. All vineyards are cultivated in accordance with the 'Integrated Farm Management' policy, to obtain healthier products respecting the natural biological balance. Mezzacorona offers a comprehensive choice of DOC Trentino wines produced by the best oenologists within Gruppo Mezzacorona. Vinified at controlled temperature with refinement in barriques and barrels, the Mezzacorona wines exemplify one of the most well-known wine making traditions in the world. The grapes are hand-picked and delivered within a few hours to the cellar where they are then selected, immediately pressed, and sent to the maceration phase, done in the cold and with soft pressure. Finally, the wine is aged in oak. Pinot Grigio with typical ground almond flavour and a touch of spritz. Produced using the metodo classico this Rose is a combination of 25% Chardonnay and 75% Pinot Nero using grapes are grown in the Adige Valley north of Trento. A soft rose coloured wine with an elegant, fruity and persistent bouquet showing a dry, fresh and fragrant style. Mezzacorona Societa Cooperativa Agricola was founded in 1904 and it was one of the first growers associations to be organised in Italy. It comprises 2,400 hectares of vineyards , with an annual production of 300,000 quintals of quality grapes. Generic Tasting Notes An intense cherry coloured wine, with ruby hues. Complex bouquet, with highly concentrated notes of forest fruits, harmonising with a spicy perfume and elegant notes of wood and vanilla . A full-bodied, generous wine, which has great harmony and a long finish. Producer Notes A new range from caVit with striking packaging and wines from selected vineyards. Also in the range is a ripe, full, nutty and honeyed Pinot Grigio. Vinification The grapes are harvested when fully mature in the first ten days of October, when the stalk is woody and the seeds well-mature. After crushing the must is fermented with the skins in small stainless steel vats for approximately 12 -14 days at a temperature which does not exceed 26-27ºC. The wine is then refined in oak barriques for 15 months. A short maturation period in barrels then follows before bottling. (6 x 75 cl)
