Description:
Domaine Lucien Jacob LES PEUILLETS 1er Cru Savigny-les-Beaune from France, Burgundy, Savigny-Les-Beaune by Domaine Lucien Jacob Soft & Supple Reds (12 x 75 cl)
The Pinot Noir grapes for the Savigny-lès-Beaune are all hand picked, and the wine is aged for 18 months in year-old oak barrels, which adds to its complexity without dominating the flavour. This wine is characterised by elegant strawberry fruit and an attractive earthiness, very typical of this area. It has good structure and smooth tannins, which help it develop into a soft, full-flavoured burgundy. (12 x 75 cl)

Though the winemaker is a veritable " man-mountain", his wines are elegant, showing great delicacy and finesse. Intense, violet and wild strawberry fruit interlaced with hints of dried fruits and toasty oak. Well balanced with an almost silky texture. (12 x 75 cl)
Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Les Narbantons reds have an intense colour which is more vivid than that of the 'Villages' appellations. Their bouquet is elegant and powerful, dominated by red fruits. A premiers cru this Pinot Noir is concentrated and full of tannins, combining character, finesse and elegance. These wines are noted for their finesse and can be drunk while still very young. The Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret, renamed since 1945, now operates, in the purist of the burgundy tradition, a large vineyard, from the Cote de Nuits to the Cote de Beaune, from Marsannay to the south of Dijon to Puligny-Montrachet, including all the most prestigious villages of the Cote : Gevrey-Chambertin, Vougeot, Nuits Saint Georges and Savigny les Beaune. Today, the property accounts today for approximately 30 hectares, spread on 33 different appellations. (12 x 75 cl)
Owned by the same family since 1834 Domaine Chandon de Briailles was once a renowned domaine, but things had declined. Then in 1990, Nadine de Nicolay and her daughter, Claude, took over. Changes were made everywhere as yields were reduced, the use of herbicides abandoned for natural methods, while fining and filtration were stopped. This change in philosophy resulted in a changed of fortune and Domaine Chandon de Briailles is once again acknowledged as a maker of fine wines. This change has been reflected not only in the vineyard but also in the winery and the wines now spend between 18 and 24 months in the underground cellars where they are racked twice and bottled by gravity without filtration. A deep red coloured wine with concentrated, big rich fruit flavours and a long sophisticated finish. (12 x 75 cl)
