A shiny ruby red coloured wine with burgundy red tints. It has herbaceous, tannic, strong aromas while vanilla and "fumè" hints are also evident. Lightly tannic and fruity, this red has a dry, warm character that is quite fresh, tasty and smooth. Piculit Neri is planted only in the area around Castelnovo del Friuli and Pinzano al Tagliameto, in the west of the province of Pordenone while the name, which means "tiny", probably derives from small size of the berries. It was then introduced to Italy, and Alto Adige in particular, where it was appreciated and propagated.
