TASTING NOTES An intense yellow colour with green hues. Strong pineapple on the nose with hints of banana and citrus. Well-structured and full-bodied with a long, tropical palate. WINEMAKERS NOTES Produced by winemaker Felipe Tosso, this wine is made from grapes source 85% for the Chardonnay from the Rapel region and 15% Sauvignon Blanc from Casablanca. Both Rapel and Casablanca were excellent years, with no rain at all during harvest. The harvest for Chardonnay during 10 and 20 of March, and the Sauvignon Blanc during the 20 to 27 of March with mild and dry conditions. Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc from these areas have been deemed particularly good. TASTING NOTE Deep ruby red color, with mature black and red fruit aromas. Medium bodied with fresh acidity and soft tannins. Long finish with vanilla overtones. WINEMAKERS NOTES Colchagaua valley fared quite well and saw little or no rain during harvest. Harvesting took place early in February and beginning of March due to mild and dry conditions. Both the Shiraz and Cabernet from this area has been deemed particularly good. TASTING NOTE This Cabernet Merlot has a rich and balanced bouquet of red berries with hints of ripe cherries. An easy drinking wine with a silky texture and fruity finish. WINEMAKERS NOTES Colchagaua valley fared quite well and saw little or no rain during harvest. Harvesting took place early in February and beginning of March due to mild and dry conditions. Founded in 1998 by Gonzalo Vial, the winery is one of the most modern in Chile exhibiting a boutique and innovative outlook and combining traditional methods with the most up to date means of vinification. Vina Ventisquero are committed to continuously improving its vinification process and reducing its environmental impact to a minimum. It therefore aims for 100% compliance with environmental regulations and legislation. This wine is from the Casablanca Valley vineyard, with its warm weather and pleasant coastal breezes, that cool the summer temperatures. This fantastic location offers the ideal conditions for slow ripening which allows grapes to develop and maintain their flavour and aroma. Located 80 Km from Santiago and close to the Pacific Ocean, this valley receives approximately 450 mm of rain during the winter months of May through September. The poor, finely-textured sandy alluvial soil retains very little moisture and produces low yields , resulting in high quality fruit with concentrated varietal characteristics. The best grapes from the vineyards are selected for this wine. Working closely with the grapes and vineyards over the years, Vina Ventisquero have come to understand and carefully manage this variety and are more than capable of creating a great Sauvignon Blanc Gran Reserva. A true reflection of our terroir, this is a wine with tremendous personality, identity, and character. This Sauvignon Blanc is an intense green colour with yellow shades and a citrus fruit bouquet, showing grapefruit as well as tropical touches, such as, maracuya. A Gran Reserva with good structure, balanced acidity, tropical fruit flavors,and lovely long finish. (6 x 75 cl)
