Chateau Phelan-Segur was established in the early 19th Century, when two St Estephe estates were purchased by the wealthy M. Phelan who then merged them together. One of these estates was Segur, and hence, with the construction of a most imposing residence which puts many classed growth properties to shame with an impressive cellar and vatroom. The estate has over 60 hectares of vineyards that are planted with 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, have produced a deep red almost black coloured wine with a browning edge. A ripe, smoky nose leads to a rich, firm but ripe palate with good balance. (12 x 75 cl)

Chateau Phelan-Segur was established in the early 19th Century, when two St Estephe estates were purchased by the wealthy M. Phelan who then merged them together. One of these estates was Segur, and hence, with the construction of a most imposing residence which puts many classed growth properties to shame with an impressive cellar and vatroom. The estate has over 60 hectares of vineyards that are planted with 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. This has produced a dark crimson coloured wine with slight ageing on rim and a moderately-scented, toasty floral nose. This is complemented by a forward attacking palate showing hints of toffee and plums on the finish. (12 x 75 cl)
