Jean-Claude Boisset Gevrey Chambertin AC
This Gevrey-Chambertin from Jean-Claude Boisset is made using fruit from old vines, primarily from two Premier Cru vineyards in Gevrey. Boisset used to buy wine from the grower who owns the Crepiot vineyard, but since Gregory's arrival they buy grapes instead. In addition, Gregory has worked closely with the grower to improve the quality of the fruit arriving at the winery. This quality shines through in the finished wine, which has lovely black cherry fruit giving way to a minerally yet luscious character on the palate. (6 x 75 cl)

Jean-Claude Boisset Gevrey Chambertin Le Creot
This Gevrey-Chambertin Le Créot has a good depth of ruby red colour with a touch of brick on the rim. It is intensely perfumed with red fruits and some spicy, smoky notes. The palate is concentrated and powerful, with excellent depth of ripe, rounded fruit, a solid backbone of chunky, tightly-knit tannins and a long, smoky finish. Gevrey-Chambertin has 330 hectares under production at the northern end of the Côte de Nuits. Le Créot is located on a gentle slope near Brochon, considered to be one of the best areas in the appellation. ‘Cré’ in old French refers to the presence of chalk in the soil and ‘ot’ refers to the height of the vineyard on the slope. Since 2002, Mr Boisset’s son, Jean-Charles Boisset, has transformed Boisset from a traditional négociant into a viniculteur, a cross between a viticulturalist and a vinifier. Jean-Charles hired one of the best of the younger generation of winemakers to revitalise the J.C. Boisset wines, Gregory Patriat, who had spent the previous three years at Domaine Leroy. Patriat spends a great deal of his time in the vineyards to get quality grapes from his growers. (6 x 75 cl)

Jean-Claude Boisset Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaut St Jacques
A large village at the start of the Côte de Nuits, Gevrey Chambertin has one of the largest vineyard areas: no fewer than 330 hectares in production, 82 of which are Premier Cru. Elevation varies between 240 and 280 metres. The soil is limestone, with a good proportion of clay marl originating in scree from the Combe de Lavaux, lending a well-rounded power. 'Lavaux Saint Jacques' is one of the most famed Premiers Crus, often equalling the quality of some of the Grands Crus. The direct southern exposure is without doubt one of the key factors in its tender fleshiness and very prominent silkiness. (6 x 75 cl)
