Frescobaldi & Robert Mondavi have come together to produce an Italian wine that captures the La Dolce Vita lifestyle. This character is even reflected in the name Danzante which means dancing. The grapes for this wine are sourced from hillside vineyards in the Marche region. The ideal climate for growing great grapes, has produced typical Sangiovese full of intense and spicy character. A ruby red coloured wine with luminous reflections and an intense bouquet that releases flavours of ripe fruit such as cherry, Plum and Blackberry while accentuating the hints of spice. A medium bodied wine with soft tannins and an enjoyable finish.

The grapes for this wine are sourced from Trentino Alto Adige, Veneto and Fruli Venezia Giulia collectively know as 'Tre Venzie'. The vineyards in this region benefit from a climate conducive to growing fantastic Pinot Grigio grapes full of intense perfumes and silky texture. The grapes are selected by hand then pressed and cool fermented for 15 days. The wine is then aged in stainless steel tanks for 4 months to ensure good acidity and crispness before being released. This dry white wine has an intense bouquet with enticing fragrance of fresh citrus fruits and flowers. On the palate it is silky, with a well balanced body enhanced by hints of pineapple, grapefruit and spices that carry through to a crisp, dry finish. (12 x 75 cl)

The intense bouquet releases enticing aromas of raspberry and blackcurrant, alternating with sweeter hints of vanilla and cloves. On the palate, this wine immediately shows its great consistency with perfectly integrated tannins and just the right balance of acidity. Mondavi like the vibrancy of the Merlot grown the Los Carneros American Viticultural Area , while the pure fruit expression of Stags Leap District AVA Merlot and the rich, deep flavours of Merlot cultivated in the Oakville AVA are also used in this wine. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec adds structure and spice to this wine. Mondavi handcrafted the wine with extended maceration and 14 months of ageing in French oak barrels. Gentle clarification through barrel-to-barrel racking enabled the wine to be bottled without filtration and fully capture the silky, complex character. Rich and silky, the Robert Mondavi Napa Valley Merlot unfolds with layers of berry and plum. Nuances of violet and spice add interest to the lush fruit character, while the complex flavour profile and velvety texture come from Merlot grapes grown in the diverse soils and climates of the southern half of Napa Valley. Robert Mondavi have long recognized the distinctive vineyards of California's coast. For decades they have sourced fruit from coastal regions, and in 1994 introduced Robert Mondavi Private Selection wines to exhibit the high quality and character of the coastal grapes and vineyards. Gentle handling of the grapes, must and wine captured the aromatic character and silky texture of this Merlot. After lightly crushing the grapes, the must was fermented in temperature controlled tanks until dry. Following fermentation, Mondavi kept the skins with the wine for a total of 24 days to naturally soften the tannins and develop varietal complexity. Malolactic fermentation enhanced the wine's roundness and depth. Finally the wine is aged two-thirds in small French and American oak barrels for 5 months to add a hint of oak complexity while retaining the focused fruit flavours. A lovely deep red coloured wine with aromas of dark forrest fruits. Smooth and silky the Merlot displays seductive layers of berry, plum, violet and spice character, culminating in an enjoyable velvety finish . (6 x 75 cl)

For over twenty-five years Mondavi's Woodbridge winery have been making fine wines in the Lodi region, one of California's oldest winemaking areas. It has grown in a quarter century, but still operates like a very small winery in many ways with gentle, hands-on techniques in the vineyards and winery that result in smooth, great tasting wines. This wine is dominated by 93% Shiraz as well as a little 5% Petite Sirah, 1% Viognier and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon. After 13 months ageing this wine has an intense, ripe blackberry character, accented with violet and allspice.
