The summer and autumn were very warm and dry so the fruit was extremely ripe, intense in flavour and very varietal. After pressing, the wine was cold fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain these aromatic characters. Tasting Note: The colour is bright and lively. The nose is delicious - aromatic asparagus and cut grass enriched with passionfruit and pineapple. In the mouth the wine is full and rich while the finish is lingering and very elegant. The Vineyard: Our Redwoods Valley vineyard is situated on a gentle, north facing slope. It is very sheltered from the cold southerly winds and the warmth of the sun is trapped in the valley. The soils are predominantly heavy gravelly Moutere clays. They are yellow in colour and quite dense. They are very low in fertility making it necessary to monitor the trace elements in the soil very carefully.
