Rozes SPECIAL RESERVE Ruby Port
Description: In 1855, Ostende Rozes, a fine wine trader in Bordeaux, established the Rozes house. The reputation of the firm's Port wines spread due to their quality. Ostende's son, Edmond Rozes, created the Rozes Port wine brand and was largely responsible for its unique style. Here he created a special, thickset bottle, which is now the brand's symbol and emblem all over the world. After more than 120 years of family ownership, and other successive owners, the firm was acquired by Vranken Monopole in 1999. Rozes differs considerably from the English and Portuguese port wine houses. True to their Bordeaux heritage, Rozes Port wines are elegant, complex and balanced, less fruity and tannic than those of the English style and more generous and richer than those of the Portuguese producers. Produced in the oldest AOC of all, Quinta de Monsul, the Rozes estate in the Douro, allows complete control of pressing, storing and ageing, right from the harvest. The grapes are selected from amongst the very best vineyards in the Douro valley, while the reputation of the Rozes name means that there is a dedicated commitment to express all of the intensity, richness and complexity of each varietal. With the benefit of six years in oak, Rozes Special Reserve is a rich wine with a distinctively smooth Tawny character. Excellent intensity, with orange and amber nuances over a dominant brick colour this Port has excellent concentration of flavours on the nose, including ripe and generous characters of cherry, caramel, liquorice and pepper. A traditional Tawny port clearly showing signs of wood ageing while it is racy and poised, as well as round with a smooth finish. (6 x 75 cl)

Iverus QUINTA de TARSUS Ribera del Duero
Description: The origins of Bodegas Tarsus date back to 1987, when Inigo Moreno de Arteaga managed to purchase 86 hectares of vineyard in La Ribera del Duero. Tarsus makes wines by seeking to extract the excellence and the best of the native varieties. The average age of the vines is 12 and a half years and they are grown on trellises without watering and pruned while still green. Harvested manually, there is exhaustive control of the grape carried out in order to harvest just at the exact time of ripening. Winemaker Diego Pinilla aims to create a wine with deep aromas of black fruits and coffee, robust and meaty, which when tasted reflects all the personality of the native soil and of the variety. Tarsus has great complexity and richness, and is an ageing wine which at each taste will provide us with new touches. Cherry red colours, rich full nose, intense fruit with spicy flavours and oak nuances. Great depth and character, superb to drink. (6 x 75 cl)
