Description: Planeta has risen spectacularly since inception in 1994, being named Winery of the Year 1999. They strive to release the potential of Sicily's native grape varieties, in this case, Grecanico and Fiano. A wine with a straw yellow colour and greenish tinges. On the nose fine floral and fruity aromatic notes of jasmine, orange blossom, citrus peel, and particularly grapefruit are evident. On the palate a fresh and balanced acidity supports the floral and fruity characters, giving to the wine a perfect correspondence from nose to mouth. A richly flavoured Sicilian white made from the local Grecanico and the famous Chardonnay grape varieties. It is crisp and zingy with aromas of fresh greengage and gooseberry. (6 x 75 cl)

After the second World War, Giorgio Lungarotti began to focus the production of his family farm on wine production. In developing the estate’s 250 hectares of vineyards, he anticipated many subsequent trends in Italian wines. Today, enologist Teresa Severini Lungarotti holds the company reins together with Giorgio’s daughter Chiara.
