Description: Siam Winery was founded by Khun Chalerm Yoovidhya in 1982 and the Moonsoon Valley range of wines was launched internationally in 2003. Using a combination of traditional grapes from the region and more familiar varitals from around the world has allowed the Siam Winery to produce medium-bodied wines that are both dry and lower in acidity. The aim of these wines is to enhance, complement and balance a rich mixture of flavours found in Thai cooking. The local grapes Malaga Blanc and Pokdum are fermented and macerated in the saignee method together with Black Muscat to produce this unusual salmon coloured Rose wine. Edouardo Chadwick ARBOLEDA Carmenere Aconcagua Valley Chile
Description: Carmenere has expressed great affinity to the Chilean terroir. It adapted so well to the soils and sunny climate that was often called the ''Chilean Merlot''. Our Arboleda Carmenere captures this grape variety's finest attributes with its intense colour and deep, spicy fruit character. Its aroma is highly complex, with unique notes of sweet spices, fig jam and tobacco intermingling with vibrant layers of rich, ripe berries. On the palate the wine has a full, round mouth feel, with rich and complex flavours and round, soft tannins, culminating in a long, lingering finish.The Arboleda range is made to complement food. This wine is perfect with grilled meat. The hand-harvested Carmenere grapes are quickly transported to the winery and carefully emptied into belt conveyors to avoid damaging the grapes. After destemming and lightly crushing the fruit, we gave the must a cold maceration of two to three days for gentle extraction of colour and flavour. We then began fermentation at 28ºC with selected yeasts, pumping the wine over the cap of skins twice a day to extract flavours. To develop varietal complexity and naturally soften tannins, we gave the wine 40 days of extended maceration. This wine aged in French and American oak barrels for eleven months to weave spicy oak nuances through the rich fruit flavours. (6 x 75 cl)

Edouardo Chadwick ARBOLEDA Shiraz Aconcagua Valley Chile
Description: Our Arboleda Syrah has a dark deep violet-red colour. Blackberry and tart cherry aromas are beautifully set off by spicy notes and vanilla. The wine is dense and fills the palate and shows a good structure with a velvety texture and round tannins. Black plums and milk chocolate linger in a very long finish. The Arboleda range is made to compliment food. This wine would be delicious with game, steak or full flavoured vegetarian dishes. The fruit was received at the winery as carefully as possible to avoid crushing or bruising. The grapes were given two to three days of cold pre-fermentation maceration to enhance colour and flavour extraction. The must was then inoculated with selected yeasts and fermented at 28ºC, with four daily pumpovers. Post-fermentation maceration lasted 20 to 43 days, depending on the development of the individual lots, to achieve the fullest extraction and body. The wine was then drawn off the skins and seeds, and the free-run wine was separated from the press wine. Every component of the blend was aged for fourteen months in 50% French and 50% American oak barrels. Cabernet Sauvignon was included in the blend to add more complexity to the wine. The wine received only a light filtration at bottling to ensure quality during ageing (6 x 75 cl)

Turkey Flat Vineyards BUTCHERS BLOCK Red Barossa Valley South Australia
Description: The Butchers Block is a Rhone Style blend made from fruit selected from the Turkey Flat Vineyards, including some of the original old vine plantings. Grenache and Mataro produce their best fruit in hot and dry conditions. The wine is a blend of Mataro , Shiraz and Grenache . This has resulted in a full flavoured, complex wine with excellent structure and seamless integration between the varieties. It leads out with mouvedre accounting for the greatest volume of the blend and this might be the key. Lots of really ripe red fruits, perfume and purity are the striking characters on the nose. Berries come leaping out the glass with enough air. This wine has lots to offer. The perfume carries cinnamon and sweetly spiced scents, with some nice earthy grenache character below. The palate really cranks with a big juicy fruit presence and mouth-filling flavour. It raises the spinnaker on entry and sails at full tilt over the tongue. Choc full of red berry fruits and lots of garrigue flavoured herbs, it's undeniably Barossan but cloaked in a veil of southern Rhone character, classy and seductive. Tannins are soft and ripe, really open-knit and easygoing in this billowing youthful wine. It will settle into full stride in a year or two but drinks beautifully now if exuberance is your thing.
