These new wines from Vistamar of Chile have been introduced to offer a value-for-money, high volume range of products to all sectors. As the consumer becomes increasingly familiar with Chile as a wine-producing country, the market continues to grow for entry level products that do not compromise the consumer's expectations of quality and consistency. Winemaker Eugenia Diaz has developed the new Vistamar range in order to fulfil these expectations. The Red and White generic wines are balanced, fruity and easy-drinking. The varietal wines have received minimal intervention in the winemaking process in order to retain as strongly as possible the freshness and character of each grape variety. (12 x 75 cl)

Description: A delicate blend of Viognier, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. 40% of the wine was fermented in French oak barrels, and it combines the apricot and floral notes of Viognier with the tropical aromas of Chardonnay, and the lime notes of Sauvignon Blanc. Delightfully fresh and well balanced with a long finish. 40% of the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 12 months. Turner TINPOT HUT Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc NZ
Description: The Tinpot Hut Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is a concentrated and complex wine with powerful passionfruit and blackcurrant flavours, with underlying grapefruit and mineral notes. This wine is pleasingly rich and powerful with a well balanced acidity that leads to a long lingering finish. Winemaker Fiona Turner has worked with Matt Thomson on many of the most successful wines made in Marlborough. The tinpot hut that gave its name to Fiona’s brand is an old mustering hut in the remote hills between the Wairau and Awatere Valleys. These huts were used as a base for musterers, who were responsible for rounding up the sheep that had been in the hills from spring to autumn and bringing them down to the low paddocks for the winter. Fiona sourced the fruit primarily from her own vineyard in Blind River and combined it with grapes from some other carefully selected sites in Marlborough. After juice clarification, the wine was inoculated with pure, aromatic yeast strains and cool fermented. Once dry the wine was stabilised, filtered and bottled. (6 x 75 cl)

The history of Folonari dates from 1825 when Francesco Folonari founded the firm in Valmonica in the Veneto. In the later half of the 19th Century, he and his sons moved to Brescia, establishing one of Italy’s finest winemaking facilities. Folonari pioneered the production and distribution of wine in bottles, thus making it possible for consumers to drink wines of good and consistent quality on an everyday basis.
