His management aimed at quality and this approach has been continued by Domaines Barons de Rothschild who have been the owners since 1985. Rieussec is a classic example of the best Sauternes can produce. The colour is golden and concentrated. While the palate shows a multi-dimensional wine, which is generous in fruit: dried apricot, succulent ripe pear, dates and currants. 18 to 30 months in new barriques. Gravel over limestone.
