Chateau Dauzac 5eme Cru Classe Margaux
Description: Chateau Dauzac was classified a great growth in 1855, however, wine growing would appear to go back to the thirteenth century. However, it was necessary to wait until the arrival of Thomas Michel Lynch in 1740 for the vines to be consolidated into the beautiful vineyard that we know today. In more recent time the chateau was bought by the MAIF insurance company in 1988, and in 1992 they handed over the running of the estate and the Presidency of the Board of Directors to Andre Lurton. Now in charge, it is Andre Lurton's reponsibiltiy to produce the wine from the 45 hectares of 15-20 year old vines. From the vineyard to the winery great care is taken in producing this wine from the manual harvest to table sorting both before and after destemming quality is always the driving force. Made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon 58%, Merlot 37% and a little Cabernet Franc 5% this wine will splend 12 months in oak barrels with racking each trimester and fined using eggwhites. The Hachet Guide Considered: Intense purple colour, traditionnally Dauzac, succulent, jammy with a strawberry and cherry nose it is tightly knit, ample and well supported by the oak. It is interesting to note that Ernest Davis, who was the manager of both Dauzac and Ducru Beaucaillou, perfected the famous bouillie bordelaise here in 1885 with the help if Professor Alexis Millardet. Available in 37.5 cl Half Bottles. (12 x 75 cl)

Chateau Durfort-Vivens 2eme Cru Classe Margaux
Description: After some extensive renovations Durfort-Vivens actually looks like a proper chateau again rather than a chai with a semicircular turret attached: the casks are actually housed down the road in a separate cellar. Chateau Durfort-Vivens used not to deserve its deuxieme status but the quality of the wine has been improved on considerably, and today offers a jammy, fruity nuance, with a dose of oak and vanilla. Powerful tannins remain but are less astringent than before. 12-18 months in wood, 30-50% new casks. (12 x 75 cl)

Chateau Lafon-Rochet 4eme Cru Classe Saint Estephe

The family invested a lot of time in producing good wine and their efforts were rewarded when the Chateau was included in the 1855 Classification. 40% new barrels. Parker, 90. (12 x 75 cl)

Chateau Pavie Decesse Grand Cru Classe Saint Emilion
Description: Located on the 'Cote Pavie', the southern slope of St Emilion's steep hillside, the vineyards of Pavie-Decesse have outstanding sun exposure. The vines sink deep into the clay-limestone soil, which helps to produce the wine's wonderful bouquet. The vineyards are quite small in area and yields are quite low, about 30 hectolitres per hectare. Pavie Decesse is powerful, elegant, deep-coloured and has a wonderful, fruity bouquet. Laurent Lusseau manages the estate and makes sure that work in the vineyard is done carefully, according to tradition. No chemical herbicides are used. In the summer, bunches of grapes and vine leaves are thinned out to produce small crops of very ripe grapes. The wine is fermented in temperature-controlled vats, with grapes from each vineyard plot kept separate. Chateau Pavie Decesse is exclusively aged in new oak barrels. 100% new barrels. Clay-limestone. (12 x 75 cl)
