Maison Henri Boillot LES CHARMES 1er Cru Meursault
Description: Henri Boillot, brother of Jean-Marc, is making some of the most exciting wines in Burgundy at the moment. He has his own family vineyards as well as a negociant business, Maison Henri Boillot based in Meursault. Henri is driven in his pursuit of great wine, only small quantities of these wines are available as the vines yield is restricted in favour of quality over quantity. This results are evident in the stunning complexity, concentration and purity of the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines. Aromas of citrus and white flowers abound, with flavours that are rich, full and seductive, combine for good acid balance leading to a long finish. (6 x 75 cl)

Chateau Haut Bailly Cru Classe Pessac-Leognan
Description: Chateau Haut-Bailly vineyard is on a single plot on the highest land in the commune of Leognan. Picked and sorted by hand the 2001 harvest provided one of the smallest yields because the number of bunches per vine was reduced to 6. However, the harvest provided highly concentrated grapes, the Merlots are rich in colour, fruit and tannin, while the Cabernet Sauvignon gives the impression of consistency, elegance and richness, resulting in a vintage which should show character, vivacity and lusture. The wine has a dark ruby colour and black berry fruit dominate the aromas and palate. The tannin structure is medium bodied and a subtle finish is surprisingly fruity. Limited Availability. (12 x 75 cl)

Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot Nuits-Saint-Georges
Description: If you enjoy raunchy, old-fashioned Pinot Noir then Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot is an ideal partner. The vineyards contain a large proportion of old vines and are run ecologically with many steps taken to reduce yields and at harvest the fruit is picked fully ripe. Once in the winery the grapes are cooled and sulphured. Fermentation temperatures are set at 28 degrees to attain the required extraction with three pigeages per day. Confuron is a fanatic for pigeage, immersing himself up to the neck in the vat amidst the dangerously heady fumes. The net result of this is the high extraction of anthocyanins, so expect the wines to have lots of colour and great keeping potential. (12 x 75 cl)

Bollinger LA GRANDE ANNEE Vintage Champagne
Description: Champagne Bollinger was founded in 1829, and is still 100% family owned today. Somewhat unusual for a Champagne House, Bollinger have been growers and producers from the outset. 70% of Bollinger's grape supply comes from its own vineyards and this is a minimum, set out in Bollinger's Charter of Ethics and Quality, which was published in 1992. This Charter confirms the House's commitment to true standards of excellence, and reinforces their stubborn determination to maintain those standards that have made Bollinger a watchword for the quality of champagne. Bollinger only produces vintage Champagne in exceptional years. With aromas of baked bread and honeyed, citrus flavours on the palate, this wine is drinking very well now. For those who enjoy the complex character of mature Champagne. Available in Magnum bottles. (3 x 1.5 Litres)
