Chateau Sociando Mallet Cru Bourgeois Haut-Medoc
Description: This estate is located in the commune of Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne in the Haut-Medoc and was purchased by Jean Gautreau in 1969 who started with only 7 hectares and in the last 30 years purchased an additional 50 hectares. The vineyards, which lie close to the Gironde Estuary, are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon , Merlot , Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot . Here the grapes are hand harvested and then fermented in a combination of stainless steel and concrete tanks, finally the wines are then matured in oak. The colour of this little sister of Sociondo-Mallet is so deep that it looks as if it could rival its senior sibling. Its aromas are based on an oaky vanilla, thoroughbred note which reappears in the mouth where it is concentrated, full-bodied and supported by balanced, powerful tannins. (12 x 75 cl)
