Description: A wonderful character and a fine wine-maker, Luc de Conti's exuberant wines reflect his personality. Luc is a true Vinarchiste, looking for purity and intensity, the maximum expression of the potential of the grapes. In the vineyard the soil is nourished with seaweed and silica treatments to encourage microbial activity. According to him the soil is lifeless and it is a fifteen year process to rid the ground of pollutants. Manual picking and selection of ripe grapes is essential; on the top cuvées there are several tries in the vineyard, and the wine will only be released if it reaches the highest of standards. Louis Michel et Fils Grand Cru VAUDESIRChablis
Description: Domaine Louis Michel is a leading family owned vineyard in Chablis with a reputation for consistently and high quality on the 45 acre estate. Up until 1970 the wines were fermented and matured in oak barrels. By 1980 the oak was discarded for stainless steel and Domaine Louis Michel is now widely recognised as the prime exponents of unoaked Chablis in the region. The soils of the area are rich with Kimmeridgian limestone that provides the character for this wine. Vinified in stainless steel tanks with no barrel ageing, the objective is to make wines which reflect the distinctiveness of the vineyards from which they are produced. A Chablis with a pale yellow colour and fruity aromas. Fruit weight, balance and flavour complexity are the hallmarks of this gerat wine from Domaine Louis Michel with a surprisingly long dry finish. Domaine Jean Luc Colombo LES TERRES BRULEES Cornas
Description: This wine is made with a balanced approach which respects the environment, for example, the vines are cultivated manually without the use of insecticides or pesticides. Once in the winery great care is taken and finally the wine is matured for 18 months in one year old barrels. Balance and fullness characterise this deep red, almost inky coloured Shiraz. Aromas of red fruit mixed with those of blackberries, and spices show a hint of tabacco and liquorice. On the palate, the spicy side comes through showing its richness and concentration. Persistent aromas of red fruit and liquorice add an elegance to the structure built upon fine tannins. (12 x 75 cl)
