Francis Ford Coppola RUBICON ESTATE Rubicon Rutherford Napa Valley California
Description: Winemaking and filmmaking are two great art forms that are very important in the development of California. They both start with raw ingredients-in the case of wine, the land and the grapes, and in the case of film, the script and the actors' performances. The winemaker takes these raw materials and ferments and blends. He says yes to this batch, no to that one. The director does the same thing: a series of yeses and nos, from casting and costuming to edits and sound mixes. In both cases you have to start with top notch raw materials-whether it's the land or a script.' -Francis Ford Coppola (6 x 75 cl)

Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron LES CHABOEUFS 1er Cru Nuits-Saint-Georges
Description: Alain Meunier and his wife, Sophie own this 7 hectare vineyard estate based at Premaux-Prissey, south of Nuits, additionally they have vineyard holdings in many parts of the Cotes de Nuits. Attention to detail and a passion for their work has produced wines with an exciting and enviable reputation. The grapes are grown organically and, to maximise the fruit, all the grapes are de-stemmed before vinification. These are powerful, rich wines that are bottled early to protect their intense, concentrated fruit. The wines are only racked before bottling, so there is 15-18 months of extended lees contact. The grand crus are aged in 100% new French oak, and the premier crus in 80%. This Pinot Noir is a red-ruby colour with black fruit, coffee and chocolate aromas. The Palate is supple, juicy, moderately dense with good pinot cut and length on the finish. (6 x 75 cl)

Jean-Claude Boisset Nuits-Saint-Georges1er Cru Les Boudots
Description: A very deep and brilliant red coloured wine it is showing elegant black fruits on the nose. Moncentrated and round in the mouth this well made red combines elegance with high quality. The grapes are harvested in small ventilated cases, and then carefully sorted on a table by 10 people. Next they are de-stemmed 100%, but not crushed , and put into vats using gravity. The maceration lasts about 3 weeks with more-or-less frequent cap punching 'by foot'. No oenological products such as yeasts, enzymes or tannins are added, to ensure respect for such a precious terroir. Next, the wine is matured for 16 to 18 months in wood, with a fairly low proportion of new oak , finally, before being put into bottle it undergoes a very light filtration. (12 x 75 cl)
