Chateau Dauzac 5eme Cru Classe Margaux
Description: Chateau Dauzac was classified a great growth in 1855, however, wine growing would appear to go back to the thirteenth century. However, it was necessary to wait until the arrival of Thomas Michel Lynch in 1740 for the vines to be consolidated into the beautiful vineyard that we know today. In more recent time the chateau was bought by the MAIF insurance company in 1988, and in 1992 they handed over the running of the estate and the Presidency of the Board of Directors to Andre Lurton. Now in charge, it is Andre Lurton's reponsibiltiy to produce the wine from the 45 hectares of 15-20 year old vines. From the vineyard to the winery great care is taken in producing this wine from the manual harvest to table sorting both before and after destemming quality is always the driving force. Made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon 58%, Merlot 37% and a little Cabernet Franc 5% this wine will splend 12 months in oak barrels with racking each trimester and fined using eggwhites. The Hachet Guide Considered: Intense purple colour, traditionnally Dauzac, succulent, jammy with a strawberry and cherry nose it is tightly knit, ample and well supported by the oak. It is interesting to note that Ernest Davis, who was the manager of both Dauzac and Ducru Beaucaillou, perfected the famous bouillie bordelaise here in 1885 with the help if Professor Alexis Millardet. Available in Original Wooden Case.

Louis Latour Nuits St Georges AC
Description: The most southerly of the villages of the Côte de Nuits this region makes up the other half of the Côte d'Or. There is even an equivalent to the Hospices de Beaune Auction called the Hospices de Nuits Auction although it rarely inspires as much interest as its neighbour to the south. The wine is firm and usually requires some time before allowing its Pinot character to shine through. The 1999 vintage is an intense, deeply coloured wine, showing pronounced, complex fruit of cherries, blackcurrents and violets, with truffles and spice. Subtle and integrated oak flavours on the palate with peppery notes, this wine is medium bodied, concentrated and admirably long on the finish. (12 x 75 cl)

Domaine Fernand Lecheneaut LES DAMODES Nuits Saint Georges
Description: In the early 1960's, this 22 acre estate was created by Fernand Lecheneaut while he worked for a nÉgociant in Beaune. He took advantage of opportunities to buy parcels of various vineyards, and finally quit the shipper trade when he had acquired enough. Based mainly in the C'te de Nuits, spread through the appellations of Nuit-St-Georges, Morey-St-Denis, Vosne RomanÉe and Chambolle Musigny, where it is planted with 90% Pinot Noir. In addition the Domaine have a small vineyard in the grand cru Clos de la Roche in Morey-St-Denis. The remaining 10% of grapes produced are evenly divided between Chardonnay and Aligote. Their annual production of 2,500 cases comes in 13 different bottlings and availability is strictly limited. Domaine Fernand Lecheneaut has been run since 1985 by brothers Vincent and Philippe Lecheneaut. The Estate in Nuits St Georges is considered one of the finest in Burgundy and tradition is the by-word for the wines made here. Once harvested the wine spends 18 months in barrique without any fining or filtration. The wines produced are superbly crafted, concentrated yet forward and elegant with well integrated oak. A complex 2001 Nuits-St.-Georges Les Damodes, having enjoyed one of the longest malo-lactic fermentations of any of Domaine Lecheneaut's 2001's, this medium to dark ruby-colored wine boasts a bold, deep character crammed with silky black cherry and mineral flavors. Concentrated and lush, it is a beautiful medium-bodied red. (6 x 75 cl)
