Chateau L'Ancien Lalande de Pomerol
Description: Made from Merlot using the traditional cultural methods, the yield has been limited to produce grapes of the most consistent quality. Vines are pruned using the Double Guyot system with bud removal, and the crop is thinned when necessary. After a long maceration, Château l'Ancien is matured in new oak barrels for more than 18 months in an underground, air-conditioned cellar. A severe selection is made during each phase of the wine making, from the culture of the vine to the vinification and maturing with only the best kept. Château l'Ancien is distinguished by a great structure and intense, deep red color. Fine, oaky nose, which is elegant, smooth and harmonious. The firm palate is full with a superb long finish. The wine is bottled at the Château and can be enjoyed for many years and is packaged in a wooden case.

Domaine Jean-Louis Chavy LES FOLATIERES 1er Cru Puligny-Montrachet
Description: The Domaine Gérard Chavy owns 27 acres of vineyards, and nearly all are in the village of Puligny-Montrachet, as well as a few rows of vines in neighboring Meursault. The Domaine Gérard Chavy, now run by Gérard's sons Jean-Louis and Alain, with this substantial acreage in the appellation provides the rare opportunity of offering reasonable quantities of domaine-bottled Puligny-Montrachet. These wines are styled to reflect the terrior of the vineyard with vines on average 25 year old, the wine is 70% barrel fermented and 30% tank fermented. Smoky, round, full and buttery style the wine lover can tell from aromas alone that Gerard Chavy wines are classic white Burgundies. Without the overly forward candy/fruit character of New World wines, these Chardonnays are made to drink with dinner. The 2002 vintage is a classic steely Puligny, with only a little oak to influence the flavour as the fruit comes to the fore in this wine. (6 x 75 cl)

Woody Nook Gallaghers Choice
Description: This magnificent, full-bodied wine is complex with rich mid-palate flavours, softness and warmth. The palate has intense plum and ripe berry characters with firm astringency and fine oak tannins, which contribute great lengths to the rich flavours. The wine is the perfect match for meat or pasta dishes. Winemaker's Notes The grapes were hand-picked on the estate at optimum ripeness in March 1999, and then transported directly to the winery where they were crushed and placed in open top fermenters. At this stage the grape acidity was adjusted and inoculated with yeast. For the following six days the crushed grapes were hand plunged and temperature controlled. The "must" was then pressed and pumped to stainless steel tanks to allow secondary or "malolactic" fermentation to take place. At the completion of this process, the wine was racked to French oak barriques for eighteen months of maturation. After minimum filtration, the Cabernet Sauvignon was bottled at the winery in March 2001. Due to the long, mild summer, the 1999 vintage has been declared one of the finest in the Margaret River region. (12 x 75 cl)
