Chateau Prieure-Lichine 4eme Cru Classe Margaux
Description: Very intense ruby red colour and velvety rich flavours. Ripe cassis fruit flavours, balanced, smoky, rather fat, with a plummy finnish. The vineyards cover approximately 70 hectares and are some of the most widespread in the commune of Margaux, with a majority of the holdings on the gravel croupe north of the town of Cantenac. The grape varietals planted are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. At harvest time the grapes are picked by hand, sorted and then crushed. Next, fermentation in concrete vats is followed by 3 to 4 weeks maceration, the wine is then transferred into oak barrel for around 16 months using 50% new oak and racking every 3 months. (6 x 75 cl)

Description: In 1956, Michele Chiarlo began his career as a producer with a small cellar in Calamandrana, starting off with 5 hectares of his father's company's vineyards, planted with Barbera and Muscat grapes. Today, the 50 hectare estate is spread throughout some of the regions best wine producing areas of Barolo, Gavi and Asti. This wine comes from a 6 hectare vineyard in Cerequio is to be found on a splendid, south-facing amphitheatre hill between the communes of La Morra and Barolo. The exceptional composition of the soil together with a particularly mild climate make Cerequio one of most prestigious crus throughout the entire Barolo production area. The vineyard is skilfully managed and prepared with much care taken between the vineyard and the winery. Here the wines spend 2 years in oak barrels. A strong red coloured wine with predominant balsamic sensations, of mint, fruit jams while its taste matches the bouquet. The structure is rich, ample and of great character, with a notable presence of delicate tannins. It is surprising the delicacy with which it caresses the palate before the enjoyable finish. Description: Made from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes with a small percentage of Sangiovese and Merlot, this wine has a big character with an extraordinary reflection of the terroir in which it was created. A blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon; 20% Sangiovese and 10% Merlot the garpes were hand picked from the start to mid September. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks and afterward in small French oak barrels for 16 months. A brilliant an concentrated purple coloured wine with intense and smoky aromas. On the nose it has well balanced notes of red fruit, in particular wild cherries, along with a spiciness which gives greater complexity. The impressive tannic structure, much finesse and a notable persistence, are complemented by the sweet finish. Description: The wine is aptly called venom, because it is grown on a small vineyard on rattle snake hill in the Alexander Valley. There are real rattle snakes there. Seghesio limits the production every year to 2 barrels. Which boils down to about 50 cases a barrel, 12 bottles per case, about 1200 bottles. This is a rich potent sangiovese.
