The nose is showing lemon, scented honey, Brazil nuts, and pineapple infused butter. The palate is mineral driven with tarragon highlights and a long finish. Now in his early thirties, Vincent Dureuil has firmly established himself as one of the top three growers in Rully, where he is based. He is that rare thing, a winemaker equally at home with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. His whites are mineral and expressive without being lean, whilst his reds are juicy. Following his father's retirement at the end of 2002 Vincent has been able to double the size of his holdings to around 13 hectares. The result is whites whilst crisp and mineral, show a seductive amount of flesh, whilst his Pinots have a ripe, chewy quality, with mouth-watering acid balance, which promises exciting development with age. (12 x 75 cl)

Domaine Montirius Gigondas
Description: Well balanced showing good structure this deep red coloured wine is a blend dominated by Grenache with a little Mouvedre. Aromas of sweet spices abound while the roundness in mouth and dark fruit flavours make this a wine of elegance through to the finish. Montirius's 50 plus hectares are farmed bio-dynamically according to the principles laid down by Rudolf Steiner 100 years ago. Unusually for this part of the world, there is not a stick of wood in the cellar. Here all the vats are concrete becuase Christine and Eric Saurel are adamant that wood interferes with the natural, mineral character of their wines. Owing to the lack of oxidation prior to bottling, these wines take a little while to come around, but when they do, they are very serious, withlayers of complexity and richness. (12 x 75 cl)

Cullen MANGAN Margaret River Western Australia
Description: Mangan is a blend of Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot. The wine is intense deep red in colour, with an opulent perfume of blackberries, nutmeg, aniseed and violets. On the palate, the wine is both rich and fresh, with mulberry and blackberry flavours balanced by the soft, ripe tannins. Malbec, Petit Verdot and Merlot are three varieties that are particularly well suited to growing in the Margaret River winegrowing region. When blended together these varieties form a divine trinity creating a unique wine. The Malbec provides the fruit power and colour, the Petit Verdot the length and texture and the Merlot the structure. The fruit which made this wine came from a single vineyard in the Wilyabrup subregion of Margaret River. (12 x 75 cl)
