Ricard Domaine le Couroulu Vacqueyras Vieilles Vignes
Description: This is one of the leading estates in Vacqueyras, and with son Guy now making the wines it is in very good hands. The vineyard is planted with 65% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 15% Mourvedre producing a very low yield of between 30 and 35 hl/ha. The harvest is manual and very selective, although the whole bunch stalks and all go into the press. The vinification lasts between 12 to 15 days in cement vats, the wine then being put into foudres for 6 to 9 months. Rich, strong, lovely wine. (12 x 75 cl)

Domaine de Triennes SAINTE FLEUR Viognier Vin de Pays du Var
Description: Sainte Fleur is explosive on the nose with apricot, honeysuckle and honey aromas. It has great power and intensity, combined with a beautiful balance between richness, acidity and minerality. This Viognier comes from a 13.50 ha vineyard occupied by vines between 25 and 30 years old vines, as well as 4 to 6 year old new plantations. Once in the winery the fruit ferments in temperature-controlled tanks. Next, some of the wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation, while the rest is blocked at an earlier stage to retain its freshness. The lots are subsequently blended. In the late 1980's Jacques Seysses, founder of Domaine Dujac, and Aubert de Villaine, co-owner of Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, started looking for a vineyard in the south of France. They were driven by the conviction that some great wines could be produced in the Var, an area typically known for its rosés and thin table wines. Aubert was interested in joining as a silent partner, and a good friend from Paris, Michel Macaux, wanted to invest both time and money into the venture. They purchased an estate and it was renamed Domaine de Triennes, after the triennia, festivities in the honour of Bacchus that took place every 3 years in Roman times. The 'tri' part of the name now reflects the three original partners. (12 x 75 cl)

Domaine de Triennes SAINT AUGUSTE Vin de Pays du Var
Description: Triennes' flagship red wine is a blend of the best casks of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot spending 12 months in old Dujac oak. Blended in tanks and bottled unfiltered after a light fining, this is a dark, dense wine with purple hues. Showing spicy aromas combined with ripe fresh fruit, the palate is rich and full of life with plenty of structure. This is a wine that needs some air to truly open up and show its best. G.D.Vajra Langhe Nebbiolo Piemonte
Description: The Nebbiolo is a lighter version of Vajra’s Barolo, yet with a strong personality. The wine is bright red in colour and exhibits violets, roses and raspberries. On the palate, it has perfumed fresh damsons and red berries with spicy ripe tannins and wonderful balance. The name Nebbiolo comes from the Italian nebbia meaning fog and refers to the weather at the time of harvest. Nebbiolo is always the last grape to be picked in Piemonte and harvest can be as late as the end of October/beginning of November, when the weather starts to get cold and autumnal. Aldo Vajra's wines are characterised by pristine flavours and clearly defined perfumes. These characters are attributable to the position of his vineyards which are at about 400 metres above sea level in the village of Vergne, commune of Barolo. (12 x 75 cl)
