Description: The vineyards are located on the Mount Cass Road and were planted in 1982, as the then owners and developers believed that the terroir was simial to the Marlborough region. However, there was an added benefit, the effect the Teviotdale Hills and Mount Cass have in protecting the vineyards from the cool easterly sea breezes. The grapes had excellent colour and flavour. The wine was fermented in open-top fermenters and hand plunged, then pressed prior to storage in a mixture of new and one year old French Oak barrels. (12 x 75 cl)

Description: Suvereto is a small, medieval town in the province of Livorno. Rita Tua and Virgilio Bisti acquired the estate in 1984. Additional vineyards were planted in 1988, 1997 and 1998 which means that fans of these limited wines can look forward to an increase in production as soon as the newest vines bear fruit. This tiny Tuscan estate has been the recipient of constant accolades for the explosively rich, full bodied wines produced. As of1998, Stefano Chioccioli has been the winemaker at this estate. Stefano is renowned in Italy for his expertise in both the vineyard and the cellar and also works with other high quality producers like Allegrini, I Giusti e Zanza and Fanti. The newest red wine from Tua Rita, Rosso dei Notri, comprises 70% Sangiovese, 15% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyards were planted between 1970 and 2001 and are located in Suvereto. The grapes were harvested in September and were vinified in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. In certain vintages, a small percentage of the wine may spend a brief period of time in barrel but the majority is stabilized in tank for 6 months. (12 x 75 cl)

Description: Marinella Camerani is on a mission to create authentic wines that are strongly connected to the local terroir. Manipulation and intervention are reduced to a minimum, in keeping with the ideal natural balance which is the principle that rules the estate. Continuous research and experimenting, both in the vineyard and in the winery, rediscovering old abandoned practices, techniques that have been replaced by modernity for its own sake, are the daily enterprise of Marinella and her family. Ca' Fiui is the hillside settlement that was already known in ancient times where, nestling among vineyards and olive trees, the Corte Sant'Alda winery now stands. From the site's gentle, sun-drenched slopes come the well-ripened grapes that give weight and complexity to this youthful but characterful Valpolicella. This red is a blend of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara to produce a pleasantly juicy red with a nice rasp of acidity. Harvesting is done manually; grapes are then fermented partly in truncated cone-shaped oak vats, where maceration lasts roughly 15 days. (12 x 75 cl)
