This superb vintage has rich deep rose hues exhibiting a fruity bouquet of black cherries and plums with nuances of cinnamon and cloves, roses and dark chocolate. There is a great balance of fruit and French oak creating a long finish filled with vibrant fresh tannins and aromatics. As with all Italian varietals, it really needs to accompany food to be enjoyed to the max. This Italian grape, used in making Chianti, literally translates to "blood of Jove". Medium bodied with cherry fruit flavours and subtle tannins – fresh, satisfyingly mouth-filling with long finish – a fantastic wine; one of our favourites. Dal Zotto Estate Winery is located in the King Valley in the north of Victoria not far from the Great Murray River which forms the border between Victoria and New South Wales. The valley was settled by Italian Immigrants who were drawn initially to the rich soils for farming, but in the 1970’s Otto Dal Zotto decided to develop his passion for traditional wine-making. It is one of the few wineries in the King Valley still family owned and operated. Otto along with his eldest son Michael are responsible for the winemaking duties; the youngest son Christian looks after the selling and distribution. Middle son Julian is the viticulturist and he has a simple philosophy when in the vineyard -you can't make good wine with bad fruit- the result is a great range of food friendly wines that are approachable and have a distinct style. They are in a small group of wineries pioneering the cultivation of Italian wine varietals in Australia (12 x 75 cl)

Ronco Della Betulle Sauvignon Blanc Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC
Description: Ronco delle Betulle nestles in the hilly eastern part of Friuli in a subzone called Rosazzo, an estate of approximately seventeen hectares, of which ten are under vine. The hills of Rosazzo benefit from a special microclimate determined by several geographical factors: its proximity to the sea and its altitude. The sea mitigates the climate, the elevation ensures that Rosazzo is well ventilated and well lit, whilst the vicinity of Mount Caterina protects the area from the northerly wind. Ivana Adami has a purist wine-making philosophy: that the essential character of the wine derives from the sun, the soil and the area and that typicity should be respected and preserved, never altered. Elegance and freshness are other watchwords; these are wines with keen acidity. The Sauvignon is grown on marl and sandstone and the grapes are hand-picked and placed in small crates, destemmed and left to soak for a few hours before controlled fermentation. It is then left on the lees with batonnage for four months and aged for a further six months in bottle before release. This care from the vineyard to the winery has produced a delicious white with good structure and acidity with pronounced aromas that recall sage, tomato leaves and yellow peppers. (12 x 75 cl)

Cantina Produttori Valle Isarco EKK Gewurz Della Valle Isarco Sudtirol-Alto Adige Eisacktaler DOC
Description: As the youngest co-operative winery in the South Tyrol, set in an area where wine-growing has had a long tradition, the Cantina Produttori Valle Isarco winery has become synonymous with premium white wines. However, the actual upswing of wine-growing in Eisacktal occurred with the founding of the Eisacktal Kellerei Klausen EKK in 1961. There are ideal conditions for white grape types in the Valle Isarco where the climate and topography bequeaths the wines their unique and distinctive character, while the inclination and height of slopes helps. Some of the vines grow at 800-900 metres altitude, here the white grapes flourish in particular because of the nutrient-rich soil, the number of sunny days and even distribution of rainfall. Gewurztraminer originates supposedly from the village of Tramin in the South Tirol. The grape prefers hilly terrain in cooler sites which have to be sunny and well-ventilated. The wine has a lovely bouquet of dried fruits, nutmeg and sweet spice and is rich and viscous. (12 x 75 cl)

Didier Desvignes Fleurie
Description: Didier Desvignes is a grower who believes that great wines are produced from healthy and mature grapes. His main aim, therefore, is to reduce the vigour of the vine, treat each parcel of vines according to its needs and practise a strict green harvest. Manual harvest and selection allied to a respect for the equilibrium of the vines and the soil by treatment with organic manures, creates wines, which express a balance between the aromatic richness of the gamay grape variety and natural sugars and acidity. Traditional vinification techniques reflect the quality and character of the each parcel of grapes. The Flurie from Dedier Desvignes has a lovely nose of violets, whilst in the mouth pure finesse and suppleness leads to notes of mineral. (12 x 75 cl)
