Domaine de la Janasse Cotes du Rhone
Description: A domaine is not the sum of their interests. It is the sum of their gifts. St. Exupery’s beautiful words could have been written for the Sabons, proprietors of Domaine de la Janasse. Aime Sabon first established his cellar in 1973 and now owns a total of 50ha including 13ha in Chateauneuf-du-Pape. The best sites are planted on a mix of galet stones, sands and clay and provide exceptional fruit. Since taking over the winemaking from his father in 1991, Christophe Sabon has set this 45 hectare property on the road to becoming the Beaucastel of the future. Tiny yields from the old vines give great intensity of fruit, while the flavours are preserved by temperature control, and expertly sculpted by judicious us of barrique. ChristopheÂ’s talent is to express the brightness and intensity of the grape, and capture all the nuances of terroir. This is a blend of 50% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 15% Carignan, 10% Mourvedre and 5% Cinsault. Attractive black plum in colour with a nose offering gobs of jammy black fruits intermixed with a delicious spiciness. The body is equally full, vibrant and concentrated in this well structured, well made wine. (12 x 75 cl)

Weingut Norbert Bauer Sankt Laurent Qba Osterreich Austria
Description: Jetzelsdorf is one of a few areas in Austria which has a tradition of red wine production dating back at least two centuries. Soft, rolling hills, a sunny climate with a high average annual temperature and long annual sunshine hours make it ideal for production of exciting local grape varieties such as Blauer Portugieser. The Bauer family is known to have farmed in what is now the Weinveirtel wine growing district of Austria since 1721, where wines are traditionally produced, the bunches are destemmed and fermented in closed tanks with regular pumping over. One of Austria's more difficult varieties to grow but worth the effort. Good winemaking yields perfumed, heady strawberry fruit on the nose. Deep, concentrated and complex wine on the palate. Savoury & delicious. (12 x 75 cl)
