Capezzana GHIAIE della FURBA Carmignano Toscana
Description: Deep dark red coloured wines with earthy nose, while the rich ripe fruit character dominates. Full-bodied, with big, velvety tannins and a long, finish this is a wine to savour. This wine was created by Capezzana in 1979 when Ugo and Vittorio Contini Bonacossi decided to create a wine in Carmignano with a Bordeaux blend of grape varieties. The first vineyard, made up of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, was situated on the pebbly, alluvial soil of the Furba stream, after which the wine is named. In 1992 the St. Alessandro vineyard became productive and the wine's blend of grape varieties was modified. Furthermore in 1998 Syrah grapes added and today the wine is produced from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon , Merlot and Syrah . Ghiaie della Furba is matured for a year in barriques and laid down for a further 12 months in bottles. (6 x 75 cl)

Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-Saint-Georges AC
Description: The Henri Gouges domain was established in Nuits Saint Georges at the very beginning of this century. Founded by Henri Gouges, it was subsequently developed by his two sons, Michel and Marcel. In the last 15 years Pierre and Christian, the grandsons, have carried on the traditions of the estate by continuing the quest for excellence in everything they do both in the vineyards and in the cellars, they produce wines considered to be the benchmark for Nuits. The wines are produced on 14.5 hectares of vineyards and includes holdings in 6 Nuits St. Georges 1er Crus. Uncompromising about quality and respectful of the typicity of the different vintages, the harvest is entirely destemmed and vinification takes place in lined cement vats for approximately fifteen days, depending on the vintage. After cuvaison, the wine is transferred to small oak barrels and after 18 months ageing in oak barrels, using a maximum of 20 % new oak in the final blending, the wines are fined with egg whites and given a light filtration before bottling. This wine comes from a selection of parcels situated south of the village of Nuits and illustrates wonderfully the Nuits character. A deep red coloured wine showing plenty of Pinot Noir style, it is well balanced showing plenty of ripe black fruit flavours while the smooth structure is complemented by the sophisticated finish. (6 x 75 cl)

De Venoge CORDON BLEU Brut Tradition Non Vintage Champagne
Description: What makes De Venoge's non-vintage champagne so special is the meticulous care with which it is made.
