Cascina Castlet PASSUM Barbera d'Asti Superiore DOC
Description: This rare and sought-after wine revives an old Piemontese tradition of partially drying the best Barbera grapes until the Christmas after harvest. Almost like an Amarone in style, it shows powerful, rich plummy fruit with a very clean, dry finish balancing the relatively high alcohol. Thanks to a unique combination of brilliantly innovative packing and exciting and rare styles, the wines of Cascina Castlet have quickly developed a cult following. Passum is their most famous wine, a Barbera made from partially dried grapes. Quantities are extremely limited and demand is high. Other notable wines include Litina, a cru Barbera d'Asti with considerable depth and concentration, and a sublimely scented Moscato d'Asti, as well as Avie, an intense Moscato passito (6 x 75 cl)

Bodegas Benito Urbina Seleccion Rioja Spain
Description: Made from a selection of the very best Tempranillo grapes from vines over 20 year old are used for the production of Reserva and Gran Reserva wines. Once in the winery the fruit is aged 15 months in American oak casks and released early before Reserva status, but with all the qualities of Urbina's Reserva wines. The result is an intense, dark ruby red coloured wine showing a very concentrated nose of berries, damsons, and figs. Full-bodied character with rich fruit cake and savoury vanilla flavours on the palate make this a well-structured wine as the mellow, firm tannins give through to the long finish. (12 x 75 cl)

Description: Albert Sounit is based in the village of Rully in Cote Chalonnaise. Maison Albert Sounit is a recent venture as the comapny has set about becoming a negociant concentrating on quality rather than the production of quantity. Grapes are bought from the same wine growers each year to give the wine a consistent style and quality as Albert Sounit aims to produce great wines that reflect the terrior that they came from. A pale golden yellow coloured Chardonnay with aromas of honey and the oak that is evident through out this powerful wine.
