Domaine de l'Espigouette Cotes du Rhone
Description: Bernard Latour is a highly qualified grower in his mid forties, so much so that he teaches viticulture at the local wine school. His vineyard, much of which is situated on the famous ÔPlan de DieuÕ outside Violes, is planted mainly with 40 year old Grenache with some Syrah and Mourvedre. His yield is 46 hl/ha for the Cotes du Rhone, but 37 hl/ha for his Villages. The vinification is traditional, some in stainless steel tanks and the remainder in cement vats, and lasts for about 12 days at a temperature between 30á and 34á. M. Latour pumps over the must one third of the total volume at a time in a daily cycle during fermentation. Part of the wine spends 6 to 9 months in foudres before bottling. The wine has no fining and just a very light filtration. These are old fashioned, rich, spicy wines (24 x 37.5 cl)

Domaine Jean-Marc Bouley Volnay
Description: This wine comes from a 3.5 hectare parcel and it is mixture of fruit from old vines and a new section planted by Bouley 15 years ago. This well made Pinot Noir is a fragrant, broad textured, fruity wine with scents and flavours of violets and plums. Jean-Marc Bouley's domaine, which has been in his family for three generations, now consists of 12 hectares in Volnay, Pommard and Beaune. The winery is located underneath his house on a steep narrow street in the village of Volnay. The house was originally built by a retired railroad engineer, and the cellars resemble train tunnels. Jean-Marc took over the domaine in 1985 and significantly expanded the holdings, buying choice parcels in Volnay and Pommard. He immediately attained international acclaim for his exciting, dramatic Pinot Noirs. Today, he makes wines from 11 different appellations. Bergsig Estate Pinotage Breede River Valley RSA
Description: The Bergsig Estate has been in the Lategan family since 1843. De Wet Lategan is the sixth generation winemaker and has obtained a BSc degrees in Oenology at the University of Stellenbosch, before joining the family firm in 1990. His brothers Louis and Plum manage the vineyards. Their father Prop Lategan is still very active in the general management and promotion of the wines from his beautiful 400 Ha farm in the foothills of Bainskloof Mountain. Bergsig Estate lies at the narrow funnel-like entrance to the Breede River Valley. The regular afternoon South-easterly breezes have a moderating effect on the summer heat and ensures cool picking temperatures throughout the day. The Bergsig Estate was the first winery outside the coastal region to earn a superior award for red wine. More specifically the 1978 Cabernet Sauvignon. This encouraged Prop Lategan to plant more red varieties and today 20% of all plantings are Cabernet Sauvignon , Merlot, Pinotage, Ruby Cabernet and Tinta Barocca.
