Casal Caeiro Albarino Rias Baixas
Description: A highly aromatic wine, made from the tiny Albarino grape that once vinified unfolds an astonishing array of subtle, delicate aromas, reminiscent of freshly peeled fruit. It has a fresh, zesty acidity that helps to balance, and in a way, tone down the heady fragrance of its juice. Clean, intense, and very long on the palate. (12 x 75 cl)

Barbeito 10 Year Old Reserve Boal Madeira
Description: Ricardo de Freitas is the third generation to run this small company, since grandfather Mario Barbeito set himself up in business in 1946. Over the last ten years Ricardo has transformed the operation into what must be the most dynamic of all Madeira shippers and it is now 50% owned by the Japanese company Kinoshita Shoji. This fortified wine walks a terrific tightrope between acidity and sweetness, and could be enjoyed at almost any time. By leaving out the caramel, and only using cask-aged wines, it reveals wonderful varietal character of barley sugar, intertwined with nuts and natural caramelisation. (6 x 75 cl)
Price: £138.79

Barbeito 10 Year Old Reserve Sercial Madeira
Description: Ricardo de Freitas is the third generation to run this small company, since grandfather Mario Barbeito set himself up in business in 1946. Over the last ten years Ricardo has transformed the operation into what must be the most dynamic of all Madeira shippers and it is now 50% owned by the Japanese company Kinoshita Shoji. Ricardo's approach to Cerceal, or using its Anglicised name Sercial, is not to make it as raspingly dry as you might expect, which results in a deliciously rounded interpretation of this wine. (6 x 75 cl)

Barbeito 10 Year Old Reserve Malvasia Madeira
Description: Ricardo de Freitas is the third generation to run this small company, since grandfather Mario Barbeito set himself up in business in 1946. Over the last ten years Ricardo has transformed the operation into what must be the most dynamic of all Madeira shippers and it is now 50% owned by the Japanese company Kinoshita Shoji. Ricardo doesn't believe in acidity adjustment and this is reflected in his Malvasia that does not cloy, but retains a delicious zestiness that combines with flavours of toffee and fudge. (6 x 75 cl)

Nobilo DRYLANDS Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough NZ
Description: Steeped in history, Nobilo wines are proudly acclaimed as some of New Zealand's most respected pioneering wine brands. A Croat immigrant, Nikola Nobilo, whose family history and winemaking background stretches back over 300 years in Europe, led the way. The history of the company in New Zealand goes back to the early 1940's when this Croatian family, landed in New Zealand. They settled in Huapai, West Auckland, situated in the North Island of New Zealand, and started planting vines in 1943. The Nobilo family effectively persuaded and guided the New Zealand wine industry away from hybrid grape varieties and fortified wines, to a higher level of quality wine, now recognised and appraised by all markets. 'Searching for the best...' is the philosophy in the creation of the Drylands wines, reflecting the pride and inspiration of the winemaking team, led by Darryl Woolley and David Edmonds. Allowing the expression of the vineyard to follow through to the wine is an important factor in its development. The fruit concentration from these 22 plus year-old vines creates unique complexity and depth to this wine. Each year, the wine wins a selection of gold medals and is the regular recipient of international trophies. A generous, supple palate shows a perfect balance of ripe, sweet fruit and fresh, zesty acidity. Snatches of passion fruit, banana and lifted citrus notes, are complemented by an intense, dry, lingering finish.
