The Yalumba The Menzies 1999 is a rich and intense Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon. The colour is dense red with purple hues. The nose sees herbaceous characters intertwine with red currant, dark chocolate and spicy French oak. On the palate, dark cherry and liquorice flavours are balanced by fine-grained tannins. The complex structure of this wine allows a cellaring potential of 7-10 years. Grapes were hand picked and fermented in open top stainless fermenters using the Yalumba designed cap plunger to control colour and phenolic extraction prior to maturation in fine French oak. Since its inaugural vintage in 1987, "The Menzies", named after Sir Robert Menzies, politician and red wine enthusiast, has continued to grow in stature and quality. (6 x 75 cl)

Cantina Negrar Bardolino Chiaretto Classico DOC
Description: Seven gentlemen, on august 23, 1933, set an appointment in the offices of Francesco Betteloni, notary public, to sign the deed giving birth to the Cantina Sociale Valpolicella. Today, the Cantina Valpolicella directs and coordinates the production of approximately 200 grape-growers with vineyards covering a total of 450 hectares. All these are located in the classic Valpolicella hillside zone. All have the same dedication and passion as the original founders. They work together and in their mutual interests to turn member producer's grapes into high quality wines, performing activities that improve winemaking and grape-growing knowledge and culture. The vineyards are situated on about 450 hectares in the classical Valpolicella Hills area Northwest of Verona, which are mostly concentrated in the town of Negrar. The most used system of cultivation is the traditional Pergola system, with about 2,500-3,000 plants per hectare, while the average age of the vines is 20 years. The cultivation of the vineyard has among its primary objectives the maximum possible degree of respect for nature: for this reason, biological techniques are used, and pesticides are used as little as possible. A blend of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara this wine is made from grapes located in the heart of the classic Valpolicella zone on the Negrar hills. The harvest is done entirely by hand, with many selections for special wines, such as the Amarone, produced from single vineyards to exalt its characteristics. This wine is a Rose and violet coloured wine with a delicate fruity and floral bouquet. The palate is dry, elegant and soft with sweet fruit hints. Available in half bottles. Available in half bottles. (24 x 37.5 cl)

Cantina Negrar Soave Classico DOC

The harvest is done entirely by hand, with many selections for special wines, such as the Amarone, produced from single vineyards to exalt its characteristics. For this Soave the Garganega and Trebbiano grapes are used as prescribed by production regulations, with a small quantity of Chardonnay. Winemaking is traditional with soft pressing and skinless fermentation. Light refining follows in steel and then stabilisation and bottling. Pieropan CALVARINO Soave Classico Veneto
Description: It is a brilliant, straw yellow colour with greenish hints and the delicate nose is reminiscent of almond blossoms and marzipan. Characterised by good depth of fruit on the palate this white is nicely balanced by a zingy acidity that enhances its long length. This 30-hectare estate is situated in the heart of the Soave Classico zone in the Veneto, north eastern Italy. Founded by Leonildo Pieropan in 1890 and subsequently run by his two sons, Fausto and Gustavo, it was the youthful enthusiasm of his grandson Leonildo, known as Nino, that revolutionised it. Pieropan attaches enormous importance to his vineyards as a source of the high quality fruit that characterises his wines. After taking over the estate, he acquired crus such as Pigno, Palestrello, La Santa and took pains to expand the existing vineyards of Calvarino and La Rocca. The vineyards are planted primarily with Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave. Pieropan believes that excellence derives from assiduous attention to detail 'from the moment you pick up the secateurs, to the time the cork goes into the bottle'. The results of this philosophy are evident in his immaculate winery, carefully tended vineyards and outstanding wines. Available in 1.5 Litre Magnum Bottles. (4 x 1.5 Litres)
