''We are traditional,'' explains Joao Roseira. ''We ferment our own grapes from very good vineyards in 'lagars' so get better extraction. As a result, we have higher natural alcohols, which gives us a finer, more elegant style of Port, as we don't need to add so much brandy.'' This finesse carries through to the 10 Year Old Tawny, which is a classic of the style. Intense and liquoricey and long, it is a wonderful sipping Port. The Roseira family was the first Portuguese producers to strike out on their own in the 1978 vintage, and they have, over the past 23 years, evolved a wonderfully individual style of Port. Based in Pinhao, one of the Douro's best areas (12 x 37.5 cl)

Description: The 50% Corvina Veronese, 40% Rondinella, and 10% Molinara grapes are harvested in October, then dried on the trellis for 4 months . Description: Verdad's mission is to make small amounts of delicious wines using Spanish grape varietals. Our goal is to make wines which express the true flavors of the varietal and the unique terroir in which they're grown. The aromas are lovely ripe raspberries and wild strawberries. It is medium bodied on the palate with a creamy mouth-feel. The wine explodes with vibrant berry flavors layered with watermelon and spice. The finish is long and crisp. A delicious, balanced rosé. The wine is a perfect pale rose-pink color with a touch of salmon. This rosé is composed of 85% Grenache and 15% Mourvèdre. The Mourvèdre grapes were grown at Rancho Arroyo Grande Vineyard in the upper Arroyo Grande Valley.
