Domaine Laporte LA TERRE DES ANGES Sancerre
Description: Founded in 1850 in the heart of the prestigious Sancerre appellation, Domaine Laporte is renowned for its quality. Located in the Loire Valley 200 km south of Paris, the Domaine Laporte Sancerre vineyards cover approximately 2,300 ha . Domaine Laporte sits on the edge of a valley known as La Cassure de Sancerre. This unique geological formation is divided into two distinct soil types: limestone hills on one side of the valley, flint hills on the opposite side. Grapes grown on each of these different soils are vinified according to the kind of soil. This careful respect for soil typicity gives each wine an individual expression and personality. La Terre des Anges is a 10 hectare slope, unique in the region of Sancerre. Soaking up the heat in the daytime, the flint rocks of the vineyard slowly cool in the night. This Sauvignon Blanc wine is aged in the barrel 2-3 years depending on the vintage and has produced a perfect balance of roundness and freshness in this complex wine. A classic Sauvignon (12 x 75 cl)

Sherwood Estate CLEARWATER VINEYARDS Sauvignon Blanc Waipara NZ
Description: Sherwood Estate is very much a family business, with Dayne and Jill Sherwood owning and operating it since the late 1980's. The winery is located in the picturesque Waipara Valley, while they have four vineyards also owned by Sherwood Estate in the famed Marlborough Region, at the top of the South Island. Based on nearly twenty years of growing grapes and making wine, Sherwood Estate now specialise in Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling. Sherwood Estate produce three ranges of wines the Clearwater Range, the Sherwood Estate Range and the the Stratum Range. The Clearwater range represents the very best varietal single vineyard wines from Sherwood Estate's own vineyards in Waipara. This is very much a hand crafted range both in the vineyards and winery, here meticulous care is taken to ensure that the wine produced is of the highest quality and reflects each vineyard's unique characteristics or 'terroir'. This Sauvignon Blanc is produced from grapes grown on Sherwood Estate's Selmes Road and Hammerichs Road vineyards in Marlborough. After harvest, the grapes went to the winery where the freerun juice portion was selected for barrel fermentation and ageing. Next, the wine spent 10 months on lees prior to blending, fining and bottling. The Clearwater Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc displays ripe passionfruit aromas supported by touches of capsicum. The aromas develop on the rich and concentrated palate leading to a long balanced finish. (12 x 75 cl)

Domaine De La Janasse TERRE DE BUSSIERE Vin de Pays de la Pincipaute d'Orange
Description: A domaine is not the sum of their interests. It is the sum of their gifts. St. Exupery’s beautiful words could have been written for the Sabons, proprietors of Domaine de la Janasse. Aimé Sabon first established his cellar in 1973 and now owns a total of 50ha including 13ha in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The best sites are planted on a mix of galet stones, sands and clay and provide exceptional fruit. Since taking over the winemaking from his father in 1991, Christophe Sabon has set this 45 hectare property on the road to becoming the Beaucastel of the future. Tiny yields from the old vines give great intensity of fruit, while the flavours are preserved by temperature control, and expertly sculpted by judicious us of barrique. Christophe’s talent is to express the brightness and intensity of the grape, and capture all the nuances of terroir. Sourced from the single vineyard 'Bussiere' which is a mix of galet stones, sands and clay. The vines yield a respectably low 45hl/ha and are hand harvested. Ageing is in 30% new barriques for 12 months. A blend of 50% Merlot, 30% Syrah, 10% Grenache and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon this wine is a beautiful example of Southern French grape varieties; rich in colour with ripe, red fruit, well-married tannins and herbaceous, spicy flavours full of southern warmth.
