Hopler Trockenbeerenauslese Neusiedlersee Austria
Description: The Hopler winery is located in Winden on the western banks of lake Neusiedl, in the Austrian province of Burgenland. The 24 hectares of cultivated vineyards face south east between the Leithagebirge hills and Lake Neusiedl. Hoplers' location is central to the character of the wine, and by creating a warm, humid microclimate the grapes of the highest quality flourish. In addition the contrasting soils of chalk, gravel and sand are rich in calcium, as well as in slate, contributing to the unique complexity of the wine. This winemaking process dictates that the most mature grapes be allowed to shrivel naturally and be affected by the botrytis mould. The result is a rich concentrated dessert wine whose complex tones treats the palate to hints of nutmeg, clove, honey, apricot and citrus. Available in half bottles. (6 x 37.5 cl)

Tedeschi NICALO Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC
Description: This is the typical Valpolicella Classico Superiore wine, made according to the best traditions and with all the characteristics of Tedeschi Family wines: good structure, delicate flavor, elegance. The grapes come from vineyards located in the Classic Valpolicella zone. Once vinification is complete the wine is left to age for approximately 2 years in oak barrels before it is bottled. During this ageing the wine acquires a balanced structure, new aromatic contents and its coloring substances are stabilized. Once it is bottled it is refined in the cellars for a further 6 months before it is placed on the market. Strong ruby red coloured wine with an ample and complex bouquet showing notes of cherry, raspberry and red currant that give freshness to the wine. Fruity, well-balanced and well-structured with the alcohol and acidity in good harmony, the wine is warm and round. The after-taste confirms the character of the bouquet while it has a long-lasting and persistent flavour. (12 x 75 cl)

Domaine Laguerre LE CISTE Rouge Vin de pays des Cotes Catalanes
Description: Domaine Laguerre is in the heart of Roussillon, a strongly evolving wine growing area in the South of France. The estate covers nearly 70 hectares at St Martin de Fenouillet, near the Mediterranean, between the Catalan side of the Corbières hills and the Pyrenees. Eric Laguerre, the present representative of a very old family of winegrowers nearly 10 years ago decided to stop the obsession with productivity, high yields at all costs or chemical enhancements of all kinds. The vineyards would henceforth be subtly helped to draw the best from their natural environment. The meagre, steep land hitherto previously in favour of the richer, more functional soils was restored or planted and then handled with the help and respect of its environmental features. Nature quickly recovered and the vines give exceptional grapes. After several years of perseverance devoted to a quest for excellence, 2001 was the first vintage to be bottled. The small stock of 15,000 bottles sold out in a few weeks-Ciste rouge and Ciste blanc -reassuring Eric Laguerre that his approach was correct. This red is a blend of Syrah , Cabernet Sauvignon , Grenache and Carignan and after spending time in oak it has produced a deep red coloured wine with aromas of dark berry fruit. Powerful but with great balance this is a wine to savour through to the long enjoyable finish. (12 x 75 cl)

Domaine Laguerre LE CISTE Blanc Cote du Roussillon
Description: Domaine Laguerre is in the heart of Roussillon, a strongly evolving wine growing area in the South of France. The estate covers nearly 70 hectares at St Martin de Fenouillet, near the Mediterranean, between the Catalan side of the Corbières hills and the Pyrenees. Eric Laguerre, the present representative of a very old family of winegrowers, opted to return more traditional methods of managing the vineyard, nearly 10 years ago. No more obsession with productivity, high yields at all costs or chemical enhancements of all kinds. As a result the vineyards; made up of granitic sandy soils at the altitude of nearly 500 metres facing south and south-east; would henceforth be subtly helped to draw the best from their natural environment and this has been achieved to great effect. This wine is a blend of Marsanne, Roussanne, Rolle, Grenache Blanc and Macabeu showing a clear, brilliant wrap yellow colour with the silver plated reflections. The nose surprises by its citrus freshness, minerality and its nuances of toast while balance in mouth is superb of this modern and original wine. (12 x 75 cl)
