Description: Tasting note: Soft and subtle amounts of Turkish delight make this wine instantly recognisable. This is surrounded by floral complexities, especially rose petals, to add extra interest to the wine. The full palate, enhanced due to the wild yeast ferment, is well balanced and elegant. It finishes well and long with a lingering spiciness. Viticulture After procrastinating on a token area of Gewürztraminer vines we have finally seen the first crop of a small planted area from the Hounds vineyard. Conventially trellised while grown on particularly stoney soils our expectations are high for producing highly perfumed elegant wine in the future Vinification As a first crop this was uniquely hand picked by a group of visiting restaurantuers and employees over from Wellington for the day. Pressed, settled in the usual way and a slow cool ferment ensued. (12 x 75 cl)
