Domaine Jean-Pierre Grossot Chablis AC

The grapes are hand harvested, gently pressed to achieve the fullest extraction of flavors and aromas. The juice ferments very slowly at low, controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks. After a first racking, the new wines age in stainless steel only, which is traditional for Chablis. Finally the bottling takes place 1 year after the harvest. This Chablis has lively fruit aromas and flavours, with the fruity acidity and bouquet in perfect balance. Available in Half Bottles. (12 x 37.5 cl)

Quinta do Carmo DOM MARTINHO Alentejano Portugal
Description: Owner of Chateau Lafite Rothschild for five generations, the Rothschild family has been based in this Bordeaux vineyard since 1868. High values and the respect of traditional methods make them passionate about harmony and excellence. Their wines bear witness to that passion year after year and their skills have patiently enriched the wines through the generations, with world-renowned success. Over the years, Domain Baron de Rothschild has expanded its offerings through the acquisition of several french Chateau's as well as ventures in Argentina. However, in 1992, Julio Bastos, owner of Quinta do Carmo called on Domaines Barons de Rothschild in order to renovate the property. The primary goal was to combine the traditional Alentejo winemaking techniques with the skill of the DBR teams and also unite the expression of traditional portuguese grape varieties with other new and noble varieties thus enhancing complexity and elegance. The plan has led to new plantations and the renovation of the vineyards, including systematic tying up of the vines and a limitation of yields. Major investments were also made in the Herdade das Carvalhas chais, including a new cellar, the purchase of stainless steel vats with temperature monitoring and pneumatic presses. Now integrated into Domaines Barons de Rothschild , Quinta do Carmo features a 150 hectare vineyard that is gradually reaching maturity. This renewal has done much to enhance the wines, and the first vintages under the new management reveals clearly the excellent combination of the 'Terroir' and the 'savoir faire!' This wines name comes from one of the key parcels named Dom Martinho and is Quinta do Carmo's second wine. A blend of Tempranillo, or Aragonez as it is known locally, Alicante and Periquita that make up 60% (12 x 75 cl)

Domaine Chandon de Briailles Savigny-les-Beaune
Description: Owned by the same family since 1834 Domaine Chandon de Briailles was once a renowned domaine, but things had declined. Then in 1990, Nadine de Nicolay and her daughter, Claude, took over. Changes were made everywhere as yields were reduced, the use of herbicides abandoned for natural methods, while fining and filtration were stopped. This change in philosophy resulted in a changed of fortune and Domaine Chandon de Briailles is once again acknowledged as a maker of fine wines. This change has been reflected not only in the vineyard but also in the winery and the wines now spend between 18 and 24 months in the underground cellars where they are racked twice and bottled by gravity without filtration. A ruby coloureded Pinot Noir with plenty of fruity character, balance, good tannin structure and a long enjoyable finish. (6 x 75 cl)
