Chateau Figeac 1er Cru Classe B Saint Emillion
Description: Figeac was a vast feudal domain in the Middle Ages, originally built around a major Gallo-Roman villa called Figeacus. It has belonged to the Manoncourt family since 1892. Thierry and Marie-France Manoncourt are the current owners. Figeac is one of two Premiers Grands Cru Classes located in the Graves Saint-Emilion part of the appellation. The estate's soil is absolutely unique with unusual gravelly rises. Figeac is the right bank estate with the highest proportion of Cabernet grapes . The winemaking is done in a traditional vat room with ten large oak vats and a second room has ten stainless steel vats, all temperature controlled. 100% new oak is used for each vintage. Description: Chateau La Conseillante is located on the highest part of the Pomerol plateau. The soil has a large concentration of clay in the northern part, bordering of Petrus, and clay-gravel soil in the southern part, bordering on Chateau Cheval Blanc. Five generations of the Nicolas family have worked hard to maintain La Conseillante's excellent reputation over the past 126 years. Care is taken to keep yields low and produce perfectly ripe grapes, which are hand picked. Chateau La Conseillante is aged in 100% new oak barrels in great vintages. La Conseillante is full, round, velvety and creamy with all the voluptuous softness of Merlot combined with the finesse of Cabernet Franc, which also contributes a fruity bouquet with hints of truffle. Louis Latour Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru Blanc
Description: After the ravages of the phylloxera aphid at the end of the 19th century it was the Latour family that took the now-celebrated decision to tear up the dead Aligote and Pinot Noir vines and to replace them with Chardonnay. The vineyard of Corton-Charlemagne is situated in the prime area of the hillside of Corton where its south-easterly aspect ensures maximum exposure to the sun. The Corton-Charlemagne 2001 is a dazzling gold. The nose is loaded with intense aromas including candied bananas and subtle oak. The palate is full of youthful exuberance and notes of almonds, vanilla, oak and minerals. This is a huge, powerful, round Grand Cru that is still young but lingers deliciously (12 x 75 cl)
