Thelema Mountain Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc Stellenbosch RSA
Description: In July 1983 the McLean Family Trust bought the old fruit farm Thelema, situated on the top of the Helshoogte Pass about 6 kilometers outside of Stellenbosch. This purchase was the culmination of a long search by Gyles and Barbara Webb for that rare location where exceptional wines could be made. The farm comprises 157 ha of land on the slopes of the Simonsberg. The elevation ranges from 370 to 640 meters above sea level of mainly south-facing slopes, making Thelema one of the highest and probably coolest wine farms in the Stellenbosch area. This wine has vibrant gooseberry and grapefruit flavours and a lovely creamy texture. Drink now while it is still crisp and fruity. (6 x 75 cl)

McGregor Shiraz Robertson RSA
Description: McGregor village lies across the Breede River from Robertson, sheltered by the Langeberg Mountains to the north and the Riviersonderend to the south. It was settled by the Rev. Andrew McGregor in 1861 and this Scottish heritage is apparent in both the architecture of the village and the labelling of the wine. In the vineyards and cellars, however, thoroughly modern techniques are employed to produce wines with excellent fruit and character. Careful canopy management and an ideal climate produce high quality fruit on 680 hectares of vineyard. Vinification is carried out at cool temperatures and with clean juice to produce lively, vibrant wines. A young, juicy style of Shiraz with bold spicy black fruit character, soft creamy palate and good length. (12 x 75 cl)

Fernando de Castilla ANTIQUE Fino Sherry
Description: Bodegas Rey Fernando de Castilla is a small, family owned producer offering only the very best products from the sherry district for a demanding and select group of consumers. These wines belong to a collection of unique sherries that are all truly magnificent examples of their particular style. The wines have been aged to perfection in our cellars in the historic centre of Jerez de la Frontera, and after having been drawn from each individual Solera the wines are bottled without any blending, clarification, cold stabilization or other aggressive processes that could remove the subtlest fragrances and flavour from the wines. In order to show the beautiful colour of the wines, they are presented in clear glass bottles of the highest quality. Since the wines are completely natural and untreated, some sediments might develop after a certain period in the bottle. This will not affect the quality of the wine. This is a wine that has spent a longer than normal period in a Fino Solera and has developed towards a style that is fuller in flavour and more complex than the light style which currently fashionable. A wonderful aperitif wine. Alcoholic degree: 16,5º (6 x 50 cl)

Pieropan CALVARINO Soave Classico Veneto
Description: A blend of 80% Garganega and 20% Trebbiano di Soave , the wine has a subtle almondy character enhanced by minerally, honeyed flavours on the palate. The Calvarino sees no oak, so expresses with great purity the character of this outstanding vineyard. This 30-hectare estate is situated in the heart of the Soave Classico zone in the Veneto, north eastern Italy. Founded by Leonildo Pieropan in 1890 and subsequently run by his two sons, Fausto and Gustavo, it was the youthful enthusiasm of his grandson Leonildo, known as Nino, that revolutionised it. Pieropan attaches enormous importance to his vineyards as a source of the high quality fruit that characterises his wines. After taking over the estate, he acquired crus such as Pigno, Palestrello, La Santa and took pains to expand the existing vineyards of Calvarino and La Rocca. The vineyards are planted primarily with Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave. Pieropan believes that excellence derives from assiduous attention to detail 'from the moment you pick up the secateurs, to the time the cork goes into the bottle'. The results of this philosophy are evident in his immaculate winery, carefully tended vineyards and outstanding wines. Available in 1.5 Litre Magnum Bottles. (3 x 1.5 Litres)
