Araldica LA LUCIANA Gavi DOCG Piemonte
Description: Zesty citrus fruit characters, steely acidity and underlying mineral notes. Pure apple and pear bouquet, with vibrant varietal definition, richness & concentration. Araldica successfully combine a well-run, productive co-operative, at the same time offering that small, family run company feeling. They now have 300 members tending to 900 hectares of vineyards. Their Asti production, Araldica and Alasia range are produced at the companies headquarters at Castelvero, home of the old cellars and a new winery, operating since September 2000. This facility is complimented by the winery and cellars on the hill at Il Cacsinone, restored to its former glory in 2004. Most of the grapes for the Poderi Alasia range come from the surrounding superbly-sited, steep-sloping vineyards. Araldica's Managing Director, eonologist Claudio Manera, is adamant that investment in the vineyards, as much as in other areas of the business, is vital to maintain the quality of the product. He believes that effective management can preserve that most important concern for the customer (12 x 75 cl)

Hardy's TINTARA Chardonnay McLaren Vale South Australia
Description: Founded by pioneer Thomas Hardy in 1876, Hardys Tintara is nestled in the heart of McLaren Vale, South Australia. Tintara skilfully embraces the best of new-age winemaking while still retaining and using much of the original equipment and winemaking methods of the past. The Hardys Tintara range is made from premium fruit sourced from vineyards in the best wine regions of South Australia and these wines have been hand crafted, enhancing their fine quality, intensity and true varietal expression. Innovative and traditional winemaking techniques have produced a stylish Chardonnay wine, while the cool climate fruit was partially barrel fermented with lees contact in French oak and matured for 8 months in new and seasoned oak. Pale straw yellow in colour with youthful green tinges, the Tintara Cellars Chardonnay displays lifted pear and rockmelon notes complemented by hints of musk and spicy vanillin oak. The palate is light and fresh with delicate stone fruit characters that envelope a creamy middle palate. Softly spiced French oak character adds structure and balance to the wine. An elegant style with a smoothly textured palate and a long fresh finish.
