Trentham Estate MURPHY'S BIG RIVERS Chardonnay Murray River Western Australia
Description: In this wine, the winemakers have aimed for a soft fruit-driven style with subtle oak. As such, this wine displays soft tropical fruit flavours accompanied by well integrated subtle oak, resulting in an easy drinking wine. Trentham's second label wines are named after the Willandra lakes region which was fed by rivers rising in northern New South Wales and eventually drained into Lake Mungo, 110 km north of Trentham. All have now long dried up leaving sparse scrub and a spectacular range of sand dunes with ancient aboriginal sites still visible in the area that 20,000 to 60,000 years ago must have been a flourishing region. The Witlandra and Murphy's labels have been designed to reflect the timeless environment of lakebeds, sand-drifts and sandstone outcrops contrasting against the vibrant blue Australian sky. The wines are produced in an 'easy drinking' style but without compromising the richness of fruit. (12 x 75 cl)

Trentham Estate WILLANDRA Gentle Press Chardonnay Australia
Description: Trentham Estate own the Willandra label which is named after the Willandra Lakes, including the famous Lake Mungo, which are north of the Trentham Estate Vineyards. Willandra wines are carefully crafted to reflect the balance in the fragile local environment. The styles show clean, clear fruit characters with emphasis on freshness and vitality. The result is a Chardonnay showing a soft, fresh character with lifted fruit flavours of mango and melon and a balanced zesty light palate. This wine was produced with great care, harvested in the cool early morning, the grapes were gently crushed, chilled and very lightly pressed to produce a soft supple style. Following a cold fermentation the young fresh wine was bottled early without any oak maturation before being released. (12 x 75 cl)

Trentham Estate WILLANDRA Shiraz Australia
Description: Trentham Estate own the Willandra label which is named after the Willandra Lakes, including the famous Lake Mungo, which are north of the Trentham Estate Vineyards. Willandra wines are carefully crafted to reflect the balance in the fragile local environment. The styles show clean, clear fruit characters with emphasis on freshness and vitality. The result is a Shiraz showing a lifted spice and plum nose with rich, ripe fruit on the palate. Trentham Estate Vineyards are highly regarded for their fruit quality with environmental sensitive vineyard practices. From the vineyard to the winery great care is taken in producing this wine including harvesting in the cool early morning to preserve the freshness of the fruit. Once in the winery the grapes were crushed into fermentation tanks and fermented ‘on skins’ for 7 days. After fermentation was completed the skins were pressed and the wine transferred to French oak for maturation. A range of oak ages were used so as to retain the fruit characteristics and after 8 months maturation the wine was blended and bottled for release. (12 x 75 cl)
