Dark colour with purple hues the nose has vivid aromas of toast, coca, coffee, black olive tapenade, blackberry jam and pepper. Full, well rounded and pleasing, the palate combines strength and sweetness and should be decanted before serving. Acquired in 1850, Chateau Dournie has been the property of the Etienne family for more than 6 generations. Vine growers, by tradition, this impassioned family are serious about producing quality wines. By exploiting their geological diversity they produce vintages of great personality and aromatic delicacy. (6 x 75 cl)

Chateau La Freynelle Bordeaux Clairet
Description: Situated in the Entre Deux Mers, Château La Freynelle is a 75 hectare estate, with a mixture of clay and limestone soil. Sourced from vines planted in the early 1980's which are Single or double Guyot trained depending on the strength of the vine and density of the planting which yield 55 to 60 hl/ha. The grapes are picked at full maturity. They are destemmed then placed directly in vat and left to macerate for between 12 and 18 hours depending on the richness of the harvest. The free run juice is bled, drawing off 10% of the must to make the clairet, the remaining must becomes red wine. The selected must is then vinified in the same way as the white wine: racked off its heavy lees, and the cold liquid is placed in vats, selected yeast are added and the temperature is controlled throughout the fermentation, stabilisation and clarification phases. Brilliant deep pink colour with an aromatic nose reminiscent of red fruit . Very elegant palate with a good balance between freshness, vigour, delicacy and red fruit with a clean, crisp finish. (12 x 75 cl)

Chateau La Freynelle Entre-deux-Mers AC Bordeaux
Description: Situated in the Entre Deux Mers, Château La Freynelle is a 75 hectare estate, with a mixture of clay and limestone soil. Sourced from vines planted in the early 1980's which are Single or double Guyot trained depending on the strength of the vine and density of the planting which yield 55 to 60 hl/ha. The grapes are picked at full maturity and undergo a traditional vinification with destemming of the harvest. Pneumatic pressing in a vacuum ensures that they are pressed slowly and gently. The temperature is maintained at around 19° during fermentation. The wine is then aged and bottled at the château before release. A classic blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and a hint of Muscadelle. Aromatic on the nose with hints of gooseberries, citrus and flint that are echoed on the medium to light bodied, crisp, dry palate. A fine example of this much overlooked style. (12 x 75 cl)

Chateau La Gaffeliere 1er Cru Classe B Saint Emilion
Description: Vines have been grown at Chateau La Gaffeliere since Gallo-Roman times, as attested by a villa from this period discovered by Count Leo de Malet Roquefort. His family have owned and managed this chateau for four centuries giving them a richer and longer history than any other winegrowers in Saint-Emilion. The wine is a deep ruby-red colour and it has a rich and complex bouquet with hints of blackcurrant and truffle. 18-20 months in new barrels. "...a medium bodied wine with a sweet midpalate, excellent concentration and purity, and a classically balanced, finesse-style finish. Anticipated maturity, 2003-2014." Parker, . (12 x 75 cl)

Chateau La Gaffeliere 1er Cru Classe B Saint Emilion
Description: Although built in the 12th century, today the Chateau is more neo-gothic in design due to extensive remodeling in the 19th century. the De Malet Roqueforts have owned La Gaffeliere for over 400 years, longer than any other family-owned property in Saint Emilion. Fermentation takes place in water cooled, stainless steel cuvees with three weeks maceration. The wine is aged for 20-22 months in oak casks of new or not more than 2 years of age. Fresh egg white fining, no filtration. The Chateau believes in a very long fermentation and in replanting only when absolutely to maintain a good average of old vines. These two factors combined with the high proportion of new oak casks gives a firmness and body to the wine and a tendency to slower maturing in bottle than most Saint Emilions. The 65% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon grape come from 22 hectares of vineyards have produced a cuvée with a rich dark red with violet reflections colour and a pedigree temperament. Full bodied and spicy with fruity, velvety wooded flavours. (12 x 75 cl)
