Chateau Le Boscq Cru Bourgeois Saint Estephe
Description: Chateau Le Bosq is one of the great classics in the St. Estephe appellation. It occupies the whole of a gritty hilltop, characteristic of the best parts of this appellation. The Chateau itself is a majestic building built at the end of the 18th century, with one of the facades facing the vines, and the other giving a magnificent view of the Gironde estuary. As early as the 1995 vintage, the Dourthe team, advised by Michel Rolland, undertook a great many changes. Harvesting is staggered and now done by hand with sorting operations. Old wooden vats have been replaced by stainless steel for vinification in separate batches, while the barrels have been entirely renewed for maturing. 1996 saw a great deal of further investment at the Chateau including the complete renovation of the vinification complex. A blend of 60% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7%Cabernet Franc and 10% Petit Verdot, Château Le Boscq is a fine, distinctive terroir wine that elegantly combines the power of Saint Estephe with unusual suppleness. The sweet fruit and spicey aromas of this 2000 vintage Saint Estephe are complemeted by the great structure of this wine. Soft tannins and a nice finish make this a wine to enjoy. Available in half bottles. (12 x 37.5 cl)

Chateau Le Payral Bergerac Sec
Description: The 12.5ha vineyard is situated about 20km South West of Bergerac on clayey limestone grounds. It's excellent South West exposure on the hillsides promises the utmost basis for high class wines. Severe selections are made when sorting grapes prior to fermentation. The grapes are allowed to macerate for approximately 18 hours before being pressed with a gentle pneumatic press. While fermenting the must is not allowed to exceed 18 ºC, this is to allow the wine to keep its delicate flavours. Once fermented the must is kept in contact with the lees, with some stirring from time to time. This process is carried out in order for the wine to develop more complexity. This is a blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 35% Semillon and 5% Muscadelle with aromas of exotic fruits, white peaches and a fresh, grassy character are found on the nose. The palate is long lasting with a surprising impression of full-bodied structure supporting the peachy, citrus fruit, and complemented by a dry finish. (6 x 75 cl)

Chateau Le Payral CUVEE MARIE JEANNE Saussignac
Description: This Saussignac is sourced from the oldest vines on the estate and utilises botrytis in a portion of the selected parcels, with up to 4 'tries' or passes of the pickers in order to hand select the appropriate grapes from each bunch. Chateau Le Payral Rouge Bergerac
Description: The 12.5ha vineyard is situated about 20km South West of Bergerac on clayey limestone grounds. It's excellent South West exposure on the hillsides promises the utmost basis for high class wines. The fermentation lasts 15-30 days depending on the vintage characteristics. The wine is pumped over twice a day during the initial stages of fermentation, towards the end it occurs once. This is done so as to extract colour and tannins from the wine. The whole fermentation process is carefully monitored and is controlled at 33°C. Once the wine has completed the fermentation process the wine is allowed to undergo Malolactic Fermentation. This natural process softens the structure of the wine and alows it to be more accessible. A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot this wine is spicy, with rich, soft, red berry fruits on the nose. This Follows through on the palate with generous ripe fruit and a pepper-herby tone, while a fine structure lends finesse and elegance. (6 x 75 cl)
