Domaine Alain Gautheron Chablis
Description: The Gautheron family has been cultivating vines in Chablis for five generations. The current head of the Domaine is Alain Gautheron, working, with his wife and son Cyril in an effort to carry on the family's traditions. This estate makes classic Chablis with a clear light gold colour, glinting with emerald green. In the mouth the wine is dry as apple-parings and steely with perhaps just a delicate hint of violets and mint. Well balanced with lively acidity, the mouth presents notes of hazelnut and biscuits which add a certain charm and length to the finish. (12 x 75 cl)

Domaine Alain Geoffroy BEAUROY 1er Cru Chablis
Description: The Domaine Alain Geoffroy Chablis vineyards are amongst the oldest vineyards in France. In the 12th century, the monks of Citeaux cultivated and carefully tended these vineyards, which produced an agreeable nectar. Today, at Domaine Alain Geoffroy, they continue to cherish the vines so that they produce wines that are not just thirst-quenchers but provide everyone with pleasure. All the Chablis wines are produced on a specific geological zone known as Kimmeridgian , which is composed of calcareous clay and oyster fossils. It is from the incredible potential of this soil that our wine draws all its richness of fragrance and flavour, and notably its high mineral content. When the grapes arrive they are immediately pressed in pneumatic presses. After pressing, the juice undergoes static settling for 24 hours in vats, which eliminates the larger particles of must. The following stages are alcoholic fermentation, which lasts for 15 days, then malolactic fermentation, which lasts around a month . Lastly, the wine ages in tank on a fine bed of lees. The vines for this Chardonnay are between 30 and 45 years old. This has resulted in a pale light gold coloured wine with slight greenish glints that are bright, luminous and limpid. The nose is full of sunshine, gaiety, beauty and maturity. A rich, splendid bouquet of a multitude of flowers. The taste is full and round (6 x 75 cl)

Domaine Alain Lorieux Chinon
Description: The Chinon appellation lies in the triangle between the Vienne and Loire departments. Famous for its red wines, the vines are planted on tuffeau, a chalky bedrock of variable hardness. This delightful wine is made with due environmental respect or "travail raisonnée" in every aspect of vineyard conduct involving minimal treatments, no use of fertilisers or herbicides. Leaf thinning is carried out in August in order to allow air to circulate amongst the grapes and to promote better ripening. A strict green harvest is also done to eliminate superfluous grapes. Classic taffeta-textured Chinon, perfume of sweet hay, violets and irises, silky smoky fruit, wild strawberries and cerise, springy acidity. Available in 37.5 cl Half Bottles. (12 x 37.5 cl)

Description: Deliciously green-grassy Sauvignon, with ripe fruit flavours, similar in style to New World Sauvignons, but more restrained. The winemakers of the little village of Reuilly have certainly benefited from the fantastic shared winemaking facility in this tiny appellation, built at great expense in the early 1990s.
